I read this as damage control. The Rev knows he's lost this one, and that the prosecutor is not going to be able to prove manslaughter. So he's backing off and claiming a victory where there is none.

And as far as the Trayvon incident leading to repeal of self-defense laws, is Jack(ass)son saying that because of this shooting, we should no longer have a right to self-defense? Good luck with that one, Jessuh.

I think that's what they would like--to remove the right of self-defense altogether. Save your life when someone is trying to kill you and you can be sentenced to life imprisonment.

If they get enough of the public to believe their version, it will be hard to find 12 genuinely unbiased jurors. If, in spite of that, Zimmerman is acquitted, riots are more likely because everyone will "know" that he is guilty.
