I’m at the point now where I am formulating contingencies for autonomy after a massive social collapse. I wish I’d taken up sailing years ago, as I’d likely have a vehicle to get away from those who cannot avail themselves a boat nor swim. Cars, bicycles, even trying to run on foot is likely going to mean death or serious injury if in suburbia. Those in the country fare better than those of us in our “quiet” bedroom communities.
The American experiment is coming to a predictable conclusion. Franklin saw it. Jefferson and Washington presaged it, although likely never foresaw the decline being so precipitous. The Federal government has become a bloated pig consuming even the souls of those who we elect to “represent” us. With the socialist movement growing in appeal to those who don’t wish to work for their “stuff,” those who do have are being eaten up by those who do not. At some point there will be a fissure across which no man can jump, and the match will be struck setting fire to the American experiment.
Those of us who wish to persevere need to understand that our safety and the safety of our families and like-minded individuals should be paramount at this point. Avail yourself of proper survival training and prepare for the mindless zombies to attempt a takeover even with force on the streets. The undead may not be real, but the unfed will be.

I’ve thought about it myself. Although, even the seas would not be a guaranteed escape...if things go totally crazy escape anywhere might be very difficult.
Otherwise, there are litterally thousand of livable islands that are without people.
Its just a matter of getting to one.
The other choice is the mountains and miles of forest in the US. But, that has its own risk,too.
They probably wouldn’t be constantly searchiing for “escapees” but they probably would conduct sweeps
..even so, you could never be sure who is your friend and who would turn you in.
That is how maybe hudreds, or perhaps thousands, of people can control the millions.
The only other alternative is CW2. I wonder if any other countries would be on our side?
Especially Canada and or Mexico?
They might be in favor of overthowing us?
