Will Politicians Defend Themselves From Attacks On Their Faith?
IBD Editorials ^ | April 9, 2012 | DOUGLAS MACKINNON

At what point in a nation where approximately 80% of the citizens identify themselves as "Christians" will Christian candidates defend themselves and their faith from the bigoted and deliberate smears of far-left journalists?

The latest attack comes courtesy of Time magazine. During an interview with Republican Gov. Nikki Haley of South Carolina, liberal editor Belinda Luscombe amazingly asks:

"In New York City, which you're visiting for a couple of days, a lot of our taxi drivers are Sikhs. If you get one, are you going to give them a slightly bigger tip?"

Are you kidding me? Did this far-left "journalist" just go there?

Of course she did. Why? Simple: because Haley, who is now a Christian, was born into a Sikh family, because she's a conservative and because she's a Republican.

Political correctness aside, does anyone honestly believe that this reporter would ask such an insulting and bigoted question of a Jewish or Muslim elected official? Especially if that official happened to be a liberal Democrat? Of course not.

But this liberal journalist knows that she has immunity. Again, why? Because in the far-left mainstream media, in Hollywood and in our "educational" system, it's always open season on Christians.

For the latest Hollywood attack on Christianity and traditional values, look no further than ABC's vile new show titled "GCB," which stands for "Good Christian Bit**es."

It was considered fair game to ask the GOP candidates about evolution and God as Creator in the debates. Go ahead and ask Barack at the first debate if he believes Jesus Christ rose from the dead and walked among men.

Barry believes in a “historical Jesus” but has a “healthy skepticism” of organized religion that he got from his agnostic mother.

Also ask him if it was wrong for Mohammed to marry a 6-year old and have sex with her before age 10. Go ahead, ask him.

I am not a politician nor do I play one on tv.
BUT.

It seems to me that the response to give to such a question is say that its an idiotic question. Do they have other questions? If not leave the interview.

Scru this leftist gotcha nonsense. Stop trying to win these idiots over...use them to reach YOUR base. They will publish your responses and twitter condesendlingly.

The readers who agree with them are lost to you anyway. The ones who agree with you will listen. And thoseon thefence will fall your way or not.

But stop falling for their games.

The majority of Americans are NOMINALLY Christian. A large share of actual church going Christians are black and Hispanic (blacks have the highest % of churchgoers of any demographic group), who wont be voting GOP anytime soon.

Sorry, 80% of Americans are not Christians. You can call yourself anything you want, but that does not make you one of them.

Amen. Political correctness is employed to silence conservatives. Ignore that. Saul Alinsky advises the Left to hold their oppnents to the highest possible standards while observing no standards at all for themselves. They do that a lot.
