President Obama softened his rhetoric Tuesday about the possibility of a Supreme Court decision striking down his healthcare reform law, after Republicans accused him of threatening the high court. (Snip) Obama said Tuesday that he would respect the courts opinion, but still believes the justices should not overturn the healthcare law. The point I was making is that the Supreme Court is the final say on our Constitution, and all of us have to respect it, he said. But its precisely because of that extraordinary power that the court has traditionally exercised significant restraint and deference to a duly elected

I don’t think President Obama and I share the same definition of “respect.”
“respect Supreme Court” means that the checks have cleared.
” Well thats mighty white of him.”
50% correct....
“Bwahahahaha!
The Chicago thugs who advise him finally figured out that his previous remarks were backfiring.
So now we have this feeble walkback.”
I was thinking the same thing. Somehow it got back to his little circle that he made an “OOPS!” and of course, since he is never responsible for anything, everyone decided they show go the “clarification of remarks” route. He felt the pinch!

"the little boy king is all aflutter"
I thought I heard that the ruling won’t be announced until June...why is that?
“One of these days he’s going to lash out and expose himself for the Godless cretin he really is.”
He did that a long time ago.
At first I thought maybe he flipped Kennedy, but I think he quickly realized the backlash that was already brewing around this issue. He thought that America was relaxing since the court case was recently heard. He figured America was not listening and now was a good time for him to step out and sound tough. But, things are more heated and highlighted than ever and hopefully will continue to be with this Socialist Idiot in Charge!
I think someone told him how much he stepped in it yesterday and he wanted to back off those statements today - IN FRONT OF THE MEDIA - to make it look like he was “compromising!”
This he said, after stating that Dems just want to take care of people and manage systems and only do minor regulations while Reps want to kill old people, allow businesses to screw-over their employees and customers and allow them to pollute the world and just generally do not care about anyone else!
All that in the SAME FREAKING speech! This was the first time I actually ever watched a full speech of his - I was waiting for an appointment and it was on in the lobby -this man is truly a mental case of epic proportion! The people who believe and follow Obama would have voted for Hitler, Mao and Marx! They MUST be THAT brain-dead!
Either he thinks he’s won or he plans to change what “respect” means by ignoring the differences between the ACA and the status quo ante, interpreting the latter in terms of the former. We’d then have to undo this monstrosity through the courts one regulation at a time.
“I thought I heard that the ruling wont be announced until June...why is that?”
First they vote and the justices each write their own opinion and have an option to change their vote. Then when the decision is in cement they write the final majority decision and that is handed down in June.
If this wasn’t an election year, you can bet Obama would have already tried court packing á la FDR.
He thiinks they take their responsibilities seriously? He’s not sure?
Is this guy on drugs?
The last thing said or done is what was in a person’s heart. BarryO meant what he said. The “unelected” that serve on this country’s highest court had a “shot” across their bow. Then again it’s Kagan’s code directive/warning. BarryO is a dangerous man and his power is going to his head thinking he has the “audacity” to remove Justices from their bench for voting against “the bill”. He’s a cheap sheister if he’s trying to covertly send a message to Kagan. I wouldn’t put it past him to issue a Presidential Directive and try to remove any of the Justices that vote against his Health Bill. He was caught and now he knows he’s been caught and now he’s trying to excuse himself. BarryO we’re on to you and your game; keep digging that hole because November will be the month of reckoning.
But its precisely because of that extraordinary power that the court has traditionally exercised significant restraint and deference to a duly elected....”
HA!
Well...isn't that just too big of him? Considering the fact that there's not a stinking thing he can do about it if they do overturn it!
Say what you want about conspiracies, but at some point a Scotus justice, even if sold out to the dark side, wants to be among the top dogs. And if Obama threatens to make them a byword, then they’ll kick back.
Even demons appear to have pecking orders.
Or worse, Breitbart-ed.

Moderator, look it up, don’t be such a knee jerk PC Twit!
Our laws are to be written by the Congress as “representatives” of the People In what way did the Congress act as “representatives” of the People? In what way did the Congress show “respect” for the People?
The Congress showed no respect whatsoever for the vast majority of Americans who opposed Obamacare. Indeed, they showed utter contempt, lording their collective, legislative power over the People. Maybe the “respect” should have started in the Congress, many of whose members were replaced by the People at the first opportunity (as, I hope, will be the current POTUS).
I got a bridge to sell you. He has done NOTHING but work “around the Constitution” and he’s PROUD to have done so.
With or without SCOTUS support, Idaho and I don't know how many other states, have and will "nullify" this unconstitutional legislative mess.
If SCOTUS strikes Obamacare down (wouldn't that be nice), obviously no nullification required.
Followed by Excuses and Blame...
“He looked like a thug....”
It comes natural.
Now on deck for the Keystone State ... Nullification
FU.baraq !
Or worse, Breitbart-ed.
There’s nothing keeping us and millions of other Americans from writing, e-mailing and calling the Supreme Court. I guarantee you that Obama has every union, NGO, woman’s group, homosexual association, green energy company, democratic organization, racial club and academic doing so as we speak.
If he does it will have the verbosity of Biden when they signed the bill and if he does drop the F-bomb I don't think the country will ever forgive him. Swearing like Tony Soprano not behind closed doors like a hip-hop mogul will not sit well..
Liar..

This might be the reason for the walkback (not sure if it happened before or after, however):
From the link: “[Judge] Smith, a Reagan appointee, went on to say that comments from the president and others in the Executive Branch indicate they believe judges don’t have the power to review laws and strike those that are unconstitutional, specifically referencing Mr. Obama’s comments yesterday about judges being an “unelected group of people.” “
all that is true because folks aren’t screaming at him, why be civil to serial liar in office, start calling him the pig he is, a racist commie with Islamic tendencies..ever seen the show about buying storage lockers, one guy yells YUUUUP, the other bids as soon as he does, do that to Obamma and his press secretary, they say we will respect the courts decision, immediately afterwards. Liar. Pig, mental boy, continue until they retreat, we cannot play on a field comprised of total BS, Lies , and expect any outcome to be positive, attack that SOB constantly in a strong sober voice and call him what he is..
Who does he think he’s kidding. He’ll get all “wee wee’d up” if they overturn it.
Except, perhaps,
1. When that legislature fails to write the law (we hire people to do that stuff.")
2. They didn't read the law. "We're not lawyers, LOL".
3. They exercised "creative" rules to exclude dissenting real debate prior to passing it in the dark of night. And
4. Having the stupid arrogance to tell us children that we must wait until they "passed" the law so we could know what was in it.
The pure unadulterated version of "progressive democratic process."
Yes there is!

Nothing in the constitution that says the government can take over a large chunk of american business, just because it “ FEELS LIKE IT “
Precedent Erkel Mugabe needs a refresher ........
Three Branches of Government
In 1787 leaders of the states gathered to write the Constitution-a set of principles that told how the new nation would be governed.
The leaders of the states wanted a strong and fair national government. But they also wanted to protect individual freedoms and prevent the government from abusing its power. They believed they could do this by having three separate branches of government: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. This separation is described in the first three articles, or sections, of the Constitution.
Legislative Branch
The legislative branch is made up of the two houses of Congressthe Senate and the House of Representatives. The most important duty of the legislative branch is to make laws. Laws are written, discussed and voted on in Congress.
There are 100 senators in the Senate, two from each state. Senators are elected by their states and serve six-year terms. The Vice President of the U.S. is considered the head of the Senate, but does not vote in the Senate unless there is a tie. The Senate approves nominations made by the President to the Cabinet, the Supreme Court, federal courts and other posts. The Senate must ratify all treaties by a two-thirds vote.
There are 435 representatives in the House of Representatives. The number of representatives each state gets is based on its population. For example, California has many more representatives than Rhode Island. When Census figures determine that the population of a state has changed significantly, the number of representatives in that state may shift proportionately. Representatives are elected by their states and serve two-year terms. The Speaker of the House, elected by the representatives, is considered the head of the House.
Both parties in the Senate and the House of Representatives elect leaders. The leader of the party that controls the house is called the majority leader. The other party leader is called the minority leader.
Executive Branch
The President is the head of the executive branch, which makes laws official. The President is elected by the entire country and serves a four-year term. The President approves and carries out laws passed by the legislative branch. He appoints or removes cabinet members and officials. He negotiates treaties, and acts as head of state and commander in chief of the armed forces.
The executive branch also includes the Vice President and other officials, such as members of the cabinet. The cabinet is made up of the heads of the 15 major departments of the government. The cabinet gives advice to the President about important matters.
Judicial Branch
The judicial branch oversees the court system of the U.S. Through court cases, the judicial branch explains the meaning of the Constitution and laws passed by Congress. The Supreme Court is the head of the judicial branch. Unlike a criminal court, the Supreme Court rules whether something is constitutional or unconstitutionalwhether or not it is permitted under the Constitution.
On the Supreme Court there are nine justices, or judges: eight associate justices and one chief justice. The judges are nominated by the President and approved by the Senate. They have no term limits. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the land. Its decisions are final, and no other court can overrule those decisions. Decisions of the Supreme Court set precedentsnew ways of interpreting the law.
You know, every single time I think my loathing and disdain for the kenyan cannot be any lower, he opens his flaps and proves me wrong.
Geeze, you just described my life. :O)
