Obama says he will ‘respect’ Supreme Court's ruling on his healthcare law
The Hill ^ | 4/3/12 | Sam Baker

President Obama softened his rhetoric Tuesday about the possibility of a Supreme Court decision striking down his healthcare reform law, after Republicans accused him of “threatening” the high court. (Snip) Obama said Tuesday that he would respect the court’s opinion, but still believes the justices should not overturn the healthcare law. “The point I was making is that the Supreme Court is the final say on our Constitution, and all of us have to respect it,” he said. “But it’s precisely because of that extraordinary power that the court has traditionally exercised significant restraint and deference to a duly elected

The defeat of owebamaNocare is what he intends to run on for reelection on—and it will work with the help of the media.

The burden is on those who would overturn a law like this,” Obama said Tuesday.

The burden! FUBO! Have you no respect for the years of due process taken to all the way to SCOTUS, with deliberations that have involved probably millions of hours of consideration? The burden has long ago been met, BO!

That you would think to influence the process any more than has already been afforded you by Kagan's devotions shows how truly disrepectful you are of the process! Any burden lies on you, BO, to justify anything other than eating a plate full of crow!

I’m sure the Supemes are really worried about whether Barry respects their decision or not. They could care less.

Try denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. But we get your point. ;0)

Wow, there's a whole nother branch of government here. Who knew? I guess Obama’s decision to not defend DOMA might have been a little premature then?

like a student teacher.

I foresee him revisiting Andrew Jackson’s words: They have their ruling. Now let them enforce it.

I don’t think President Obama and I share the same definition of “respect.”

“respect Supreme Court” means that the checks have cleared.

“Bwahahahaha!

The Chicago thugs who advise him finally figured out that his previous remarks were backfiring.

So now we have this feeble walkback.”

I was thinking the same thing. Somehow it got back to his little circle that he made an “OOPS!” and of course, since he is never responsible for anything, everyone decided they show go the “clarification of remarks” route. He felt the pinch!

I thought I heard that the ruling won’t be announced until June...why is that?

At first I thought maybe he flipped Kennedy, but I think he quickly realized the backlash that was already brewing around this issue. He thought that America was relaxing since the court case was recently heard. He figured America was not listening and now was a good time for him to step out and sound tough. But, things are more heated and highlighted than ever and hopefully will continue to be with this Socialist Idiot in Charge!

I think someone told him how much he stepped in it yesterday and he wanted to back off those statements today - IN FRONT OF THE MEDIA - to make it look like he was “compromising!”

Like his speech today, he said people are under the impression that the Dems are on the far-left and the Reps are on the far-right and the truth and compromise is somewhere in the middle. He told them that as reporters, they need to see and report the truth and the truth is that the arguments were not totally opposite, with a compromise somewhere in the middle; Dems are moderates and Reps are EXTREME RIGHT-WING! I am paraphrasing, but basically he said that the Dems are in the middle, trying to coax those evil, right-wing, nutjob Republicans into the middle with them - kicking and screaming!

This he said, after stating that Dems just want to take care of people and manage systems and only do minor regulations while Reps want to kill old people, allow businesses to screw-over their employees and customers and allow them to pollute the world and just generally do not care about anyone else!

All that in the SAME FREAKING speech! This was the first time I actually ever watched a full speech of his - I was waiting for an appointment and it was on in the lobby -this man is truly a mental case of epic proportion! The people who believe and follow Obama would have voted for Hitler, Mao and Marx! They MUST be THAT brain-dead!

Either he thinks he’s won or he plans to change what “respect” means by ignoring the differences between the ACA and the status quo ante, interpreting the latter in terms of the former. We’d then have to undo this monstrosity through the courts one regulation at a time.
