GOP fears Latino revolt (GOP should just end. They are trying their own Dream Act. Statist wimps.)

Republicans worried about their party’s standing with Hispanic voters have launched an election-year scramble to put a better face on their party’s immigration problem.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, is working with senators from other immigrant-heavy states like Jon Kyl of Arizona and Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas on their own version of the DREAM Act to help undocumented children. Kyl and Hutchison have held several closed-door meetings with a key Democrat to see whether there’s bipartisan support for a compromise plan. Republicans are also exploring changes in visa rules to attract more high-skilled workers and tourists. But above all, key Republicans are pushing a change in rhetoric, urging Mitt Romney to shift tactics away from the strident comments he’s made during the primary season in hopes of convincing Hispanic voters that Republicans will give immigrants a fair deal.

So, what these GOP bright elites are doing is shutting their mouth about blacks, Obama, the media, and Democrats labeling a half-white Hispanic as a racist murderer - with the emphasis on WHITE!

I swear, pandering to any so-called minority group (Hispanics outnumber blacks and will outnumber whites in 50 years) and bolstering misguided beliefs they are ‘victims’ is plain ass silly. They risk their assimilation into this society by aligning themselves with illegals and reconquista all the while fully content to let blacks and Obama officially reclassify the race of one of their members. A pox on them all. We won’t survive until these ‘groups’ start thinking they are Americans first.

We have to stop allowing non-citizens access to the treasury. This includes residents who are here under the condition of being able to support themselves.

Do that, verify who people are by law for a job and you will see millions self deport and this issue will go away.

Isn’t it racism to allow only one people to sneak in as citizens while the whole rest of the world wait in line?

You don’t seem to understand what is in the Dream Act, which is a de facto amnesty for 3 million people. Wake up and smell the coffee.

From the National Review Online (which also asks Republican Sen. Marco Rubio about his endorsement of presidential candidate Mitt Romney and ObamaCare):

NRO: I saw that you are offering what is being characterized as a revised or reformed version of the DREAM Act, and I notice the editors of the New York Times didn’t like it. I’m sure their lack of approval stuns you and has you all torn up inside. Could you walk us through your proposal and how it differs from previous versions?

Rubio: Well, we don’t have a formal proposal yet; all we’ve discussed is concepts. I think the vast majority of Americans understand that if you were four years old when you were brought here, you grew up in this country your whole life, and you’re now a valedictorian of a high school or are a high-achieving academic person, and have much to contribute to our future, I think most Americans, the vast majority of Americans find that compelling and want to accommodate that.

The problem is that all of the existing policy proposals that are out there like the DREAM Act create amnesty. They create incentives for illegal immigration, chain migration, and all sorts of problems. What I have said is that I believe we can deal with these kids and these circumstances without making all of the DREAM Act’s mistakes.

That’s what I have talked about. There’s no specific proposal, but I hope that it will be bipartisan, although I doubt it will be.

Most Americans want a border crack down.

But the only legislation ever coming out of our Congress are Amnesty bills.

If I were a lib, I’d be laughing and flipping everyone off too. :(:(:(:(:(

Illegals are government growth hormone.

Think about it.

If there are 30 million illegal aliens in America, that’s enough to create nearly 50 congressional districts. (primarily democrat) I’m assuming that it costs millions in district administration costs alone. Then start adding in earmarks and other pork requested by those congressmen and you’re looking at hundreds of millions in spending. Those same congressmen are then voting for even more spending on a national level.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone supporting amnesty is treasonous.

There are 2 things, IMHO, that have caused the Illegal invasion to proliferate, un-checked:

1) The ERROR of ruling that Foreigners' babies born in the USA are AUTOMATICALLY U.S. Citizens (Anchor Babies).

2) That Foreigners (aka, Illegal Aliens) are entitled to the SAME BENEFITS as U.S. Citizens (welfare, food stamps, education, medical care, etc., etc.)

Take away the incentives to come to the USA illegally, and you stop the flow. As for the 20+ million Illegals already here; spend the money to deport them....it's a LOT cheaper than those Freebies they get and the cost of their squatting, and they can get in line with Legal Immigrants at the Border.

Well said

Sounds right to me. How else can one characterize deliberately offering inducements and rewards for breaking US laws to invasive foreign nationals?

Here comes Susana Martinez as Romney’s VP. They will do this for four reasons:
1. Clean past
2. Female Latina of Mexican decent (Best fits demographics needed to win)
3. Relatively unknown, unlike a Rubio or a Ryan
4. Romney’s “Western Strategy”.

The GOP and wishy-washy progressives in the party have consistently taken the wrong path towards gaining Hispanic voters. They have been selling amnesty and subsidized labor while hundreds of thousands of American Hispanics have watched their neighborhoods, schools and communities be overrun by foreign gangs, there jobs taken by illegals, and their futures thrown over the cliff of popular politics. This has all been for what...?

The Republican Party will better serve Hispanic voters by supporting working families, with good tax policies, job creation, and a stable culture that will preserve jobs, and encourage prosperity. That means the GOP should support socially conservative Hispanics and religious freedom, as well as a level playing field for Americans, including Hispanic Americans wanting to work and make America a better place.
