Wow! That's an excellent job. Yes, it is quite clear there. Just listening to the un-enhanced version I thought it sounded like "boots" and a 'b' sound has a similar sound as a 'p'. 'Boots' didn't make much sense though.

In a stretch I thought he could have stepped in a puddle of water and his boots leaked but who wears boots in FL in town? 'Punks' makes sense. The extremely outdated 'coons' does not. I'm 57 and that was passe when I was a teenager.

When I first began listening to it, slowing it down, speeding it up, adjusting stuff, it became immediately clear the word began with a “P”.

For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what word it was. I was pretty sure it sounded like “pogue”, which is a military epithet I AM familiar with, but it completely didn’t fit the context.
