Interesting. I had not listened to this recording before. It seemed completely straightforward to me.

The guy calls the cops, about 84 seconds into the call, Martin walks towards him.

At 124 seconds in, Martin runs. Zimmerman hasn't said a word to him.

Zimmerman gets out of his car and you can hear the door shut behind him.

Two minutes later, the call ends.

I ran the audio through Audio Hijack Pro (not an expert) and the part where some people are asserting he called Martin a "F****ng coon" is hard to hear, but I can clearly tell it begins with a "P" and not a "C".

if you listen to it in a loop (which I have linked to) you can make out he is saying "F****g Punks!"

HERE IS A SLOWED DOWN, ENHANCED LOOP OF ZIMMERMAN

It CLEARLY isn't "coons", the word is a puckered "P". No mistaking it.

Wow! That's an excellent job. Yes, it is quite clear there. Just listening to the un-enhanced version I thought it sounded like "boots" and a 'b' sound has a similar sound as a 'p'. 'Boots' didn't make much sense though.

In a stretch I thought he could have stepped in a puddle of water and his boots leaked but who wears boots in FL in town? 'Punks' makes sense. The extremely outdated 'coons' does not. I'm 57 and that was passe when I was a teenager.

I just listened to the original again and it’s clear as crystal now. “Punks”
