From a different article:

"And that may explain Mr. Gingrich’s true reason for remaining in the race: it keeps him in the spotlight. He clearly relishes the appearances on CNN with Piers Morgan and on Fox News with Sean Hannity. When he travels, a 10-car motorcade conveys him like a head of state, three police cars with flashing lights leading a Secret Service detail and shiny S.U.V.’s for Mr. Gingrich and his staff.

As a candidate, his opinion is sought as major news of the day.....A senior adviser to Mr. Gingrich pushed back on the suggestion that Mr. Gingrich was still in the race to maintain his place in the spotlight.

“The naysayers and critics and their shopworn clichés about why he can’t continue is actually oxygen for him,” said the adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

But despite the pressures, Mr. Gingrich seems to be enjoying himself campaigning again. Gone are the desultory stump speeches he gave in Alabama and Mississippi earlier in the month...”I’m cheerful about going forward,” he said on Friday.

His schedule has taken on an unhurried pace and easygoing style. Not long ago, Mr. Gingrich was asked by Charlie Rose on CBS whether there were any circumstances under which he would suspend his campaign.

“Probably none,” he said. "

That’s my man Newt. I’m in, til Newt’s out.

Go, Newt!

The base will not get out and vote for Romney.
No one can excite the base. Newt and Palin can. Listen, Gop..listen. Obama has to be thrilled with his competitor.

Smart move...romney has so many skeletons falling out of his closet, one of them may just knock him out of the race. I'm sure Newt is is thinking he wants to be in there when that happens.

Only one problem. If Newt continues to split the vote and come in third or fourth, it actually increases Romney’s chances of hitting 1,144 delegates.

I’m not knocking Newt. It’s his choice. But it does seem odd that he doesn’t envision coming back at least into second place in the race, but still continues on.

I’d much rather see Ron Paul drop out. But there’s no chance that he will, judging from his past behavior.

Talk about some of Santorum’s statements. This one makes Newt sound not serious and positive that Romney is the nominee.

Gingrich has become so insignificant he can do whatever he pleases now.

He came in with class—too bad he has decided not to go out the same way.

Now all he is doing is giving Mitt's people an excuse to bash Santorum while claiming to be his people.

"Gingrich insists he'll run until Romney has 1,144 delegates..."

And Newt's going to see that that happens no matter what it takes!

Thanks for posting this.

Did you know Sarah was making calls in Louisiana for Newt, telling people that he was still in the race, even though the media had been ignoring him... Another step closer for Sarah...

GO NEWT!!!

Hang in there Newt? We don’t vote until May 29th and I want to cast a vote that won’t make me puke to do so.

Newt Gingrich insisted Monday that he would continue in the fight for the Republican presidential nomination until Mitt Romney secured the 1,144 delegates necessary to clinch the nomination, saying

That the whole thing will go faster with himself in the race, he’ll still get to make free speeches after each election, and he can still be relevant.

Newt is in it, and as long as he is, so am I. I love it, this is what conviction and belief is all about.

My wife and I can’t think of anyone that would make a better President than Newt Gingrich or anyone more likely than him to beat obama and we stand with Newt as long as he stays in the race.

Good for Newt!!!!!

June, July and August should be loads of fun.

This has got to be really pi$$ing Romney off... and I love it.

As for Saintorum, well, he has yet again documented his “true conservative” metal , as well as his commanding knowledge of the constitution and the rule of law. LMAO
