The city manager said his body lay in the morgue for three days before any of his friends or family said anything about his not being around. Maybe he roamed the city pretty much at will at all hours doing something or other?
But on Dateline tonight the Dad said he found out the next day.
Where exactly did Trayvon “stay”?
They say the dad reported him missing the next day and then at some point the police came by to show photos to dad.
Dad called and told mom and mom told dad he needed to go to the morgue to make sure or she went? Something like that.
So I think it may have been 3 days before somebody went to the morgue for positive ID, but Trayvon was reported missing at some point the following afternoon.
I think that is it...
*snip*
I had gone out for dinner, says Tracy, and when I got home, Trayvon wasnt there. I tried calling his cell phone several times, and it went straight to voicemail. I wasnt that worried, because he had been spending time with my 20-year-old nephew who was a responsible young man. There wasnt a panic that he wasnt at home. I figured that they had gone to the movies, because they had said they might. So I laid down, thinking they would show up later.
The next morning, when he woke up, Tracy realized that Trayvon had not returned home. I started making calls, and I reached my nephew, Martin says. He said he hadnt seen Trayvon. Then I really started getting worried. So I called the Sheriffs department to file a missing persons report. I let them know it hadnt been 24 hours, but it was unusual for Trayvon not to return home.
