Obama Promises Lower Gas Prices and Defends Keystone XL Decision
By Tara Dodrill | Yahoo! Contributor Network Fri, Mar 23, 2012
President Obama signed an executive order earlier this week approving the Keystone XL pipeline connecting Cushing, Okla., to the Texas Gulf Coast, National Public Radio reports. Obama concluded his four-state energy tour at Ohio State University in Columbus on Thursday. While in Ohio, Obama toured an experimental "high-tech" automotive facility and viewed the "fasted electric car in the world," the Buckeye Bullet 2, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The automotive research center has garnered millions in federal funding for fuel-cell and hybrid propulsion research.
Here are some facts about Obama's energy tour and the Keystone XL pipeline:
**SNIP**
* President Obama stated during the energy tour that his plan to increase fuel efficiency standards to 55 miles per gallon by 2025. Obama also remarked that the plan will help consumers when filling up at the pump and aid in the conservation of oil, the AP reports.

Hey little child Marxist? This is 2012, not 2025....just so you know, little boy.
I hear they are channeling Sadi Carnot to plead for revocation of the Second Law.
Just vote this nightmare away in November.
So go ahead, Zero. Make your promises. Only the stupid will believe them.
In a couple of words: "He blinked".
My snowplow gets 12. I am ok with that, when it snows.
I think the wife’s car gets 13 (ESV).
My little plow gets about 16.
The poofter can KMA.
Obama lives in a green fantasy land. In the real world the laws of physics are obeyed. Wind, solar algae etc are simply not dense enough to power a modern industrial society. His administration’s war on carbon energy sources is causing real misery and unemployment. Yet the ideologues at EPA and Dept of Energy will never suffer. If they are thrown out of office, they will simply return to their tenured positions at tax supported universities or tax shielded foundations. Too bad they don’t experience the real consequences of their bizarre policies.
1. End "boutique blending".
2. Approve the Keystone XL from Hardisty, Alberta to Cushing, Oklahoma.
3. Approve every drilling permit and lease now applied for on federal lands.
4. Invite more drilling permits on federal lands.
5. Close the EPA.
That’s the “southgern leg” of that entire pipeline, which was scheduled to go into construction in June, anyway.
He has no authority to approve it, since it’s on US property. He only has approval of the “northern leg” of the pipeline, 50ft of which crosses into Canada.
Without the “northern leg”, the “southern leg” of the Keystone XL Pipeline is like an unconnected garden hose which no one has turned-on the spigot for: useless. Nothing’s going to flow from Canada’s shale deposits.

We got complaints and we pulled it.
Thanks.

I like your rewrite : )
What was it Obama said about Politicians saying they could and would lower gas prices? He said they were being mendacious or words to that affect......so what’s he saying here....Mr. Obama, you can’t have it both ways.........
From Obama’s ‘08 campaign:
“Words, just words; just speeches.”
I won’t hold my breath for gas prices to fall or a reversal of his Keystone XL pipeline decision.
But, unlike his manipulation of unemployment statistics, how will he manage to make gas prices at stations across the country look lower than they actually are??
