We'll never know whether it played a role in quarterback Peyton Manning's decision to play for the Denver Broncos rather than the San Francisco 49ers, but the California Taxpayers Association says that it could save the football star millions in state income taxes.

Thanks for that info on Santa Clara. I’ve never been there.
That said,Go Pats !!!!!!
Lived in Denver for about eight years back in the late 1960's thru mid 1970's. Over New Years '71-'72 I flew out to San Fran to spend a few days with an old Marine buddy I hadn't seen in several years. He had a nice place in Sausalito and being straight had more than his fair share of lovely young lady friends ... we were both bachelors so it was an eventful few days. My point to this overly long story was when I said I was from Denver the people I met seemed genuinely impressed. Now understand if you live in the Bay area, especially Sausalito and Tiburon, it's easy to be a little arrogant. Anyway, it occurred to me that had I said I was from Omaha, or KC, (both nice cities) I'm sure I wouldn't have had the same response. What's more, one of the young ladies (a flight attendant) stopped over in Denver about a month later and we had a nice evening together.
Another reason I thought he’d pick Tennessee. No state income tax. And he has close family near Nashville and has several businesses (like the D1 Center) where I live in Franklin.
I actually thought it was a bad idea to go after him but Bud Adams makes some really stupid decisions i.e. Vince “crybaby” Young.
Manning is simply cashing in, getting his retirement account filled up.
No way he carries Denver to a SuperBowl.
There`s a BIG target on his back for defense players and I doubt he lasts 2 years.
Correct. Pros have to pay the taxes on where they earn the income. Yeah, every state wants a piece of the pie (off the top).
Indeed ... the same goes for Tebow and NY vs Jax.
“-—said I was from Denver the people I met seemed genuinely impressed.”
My daughter’s job took her there for 5 years and she loved it. I visited and was very impressed.
A beautiful city in a beautiful state.
