Radio campaign next step against Rush Limbaugh

NEW YORK (AP) — Rush Limbaugh's opponents are starting a radio campaign against him Thursday, seizing upon the radio star's attack of a Georgetown law student as a "slut" to make a long-term effort aimed at weakening his business.

The liberal Media Matters for America is using a past campaign against Glenn Beck as a template. In Limbaugh, however, they're going after bigger game. He's already fighting back and the group's stance has provoked concerns that an effort to silence someone for objectionable talk is in itself objectionable.

Media Matters is spending at least $100,000 for two advertisements that will run in eight cities.

The ads use Limbaugh's own words about student Sandra Fluke, who testified at a congressional hearing that contraception should be paid for in health plans. Limbaugh, on his radio programs, suggested Fluke wanted to be paid to have sex, which made her a "slut" and a "prostitute." In return for the money, he said Fluke should post videos of herself having sex. Under sharp criticism, Limbaugh later apologized.

In one of the anti-Limbaugh ads, listeners are urged to call the local station that carries Limbaugh to say "we don't talk to women like that" in our city.

Ad time was purchased in Boston; Chicago; Detroit; Seattle; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Macon, Ga.; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The cities were selected to support active local campaigns against Limbaugh or because of perceptions Limbaugh may be vulnerable in that market, said Angelo Carusone of Media Matters.

If they want to get the most for their advertising buck they should advertise on Rush’s show.

It was a bleeping joke!!

She was asking the taxpayers for $3000 for sex! He made a bleeping joke!!

It has nothing to do with how rush treats women!!! Here is how he treats women: all his exwives are happy and quiet. He bought Elton John for a night for his bride’s entertainment at $1 million. He gives millions to the charity for the children of fallen heroes - half of those children are female.

Ugly bill maher called Sarah Palin the C word, and he wasn’t joking! How does he treat his women? According to public record, he abuses them verbally and beats them up. Go after maher.

Of course, get Rush off the radio. The truth is they want all conservatives off the media. Back to the days when the alphabet networks dispensed all you needed to know. But it wouldn’t end there. Look for libs to seek more thought (and speech) control legislation to bar anyone, including average citizens, from “hate” words i.e. words that don’t reflect favorably on radical leftism. American libs look fondly at Europe where people can be tossed in the clink for criticizing radical Islam. Think it can’t happen here?

Ever been to liberal sites such as Huffington Post or Democratic Underground?

At Huffington Post they use a panel of anonymous screeners to review every post prior to its being allowed to be shown.

It takes them 45 minutes to review.

At Du you can sign up but not post any thread until they get to know you and approve of your philosophy.

That’s how the world would be under the Socialism round 2. just as they ran Germany in 1939.

I just added those states to the TOPICS list above.

Everyone, please take a few minutes to contact your EIB affiliate(s) to let them know how much you appreciate hearing The Rush Limbaugh Show on their station.

“we don’t talk to women like that” in our city.”

I was listening in to the EIB when Rush said what he said and in no way was he speaking to Ms. Fluke. He was kinda thinking out loud in his own way and came up with “slut”, “prostitute” and “round-heeled”...He said that his mother referred to women like that as being round-heeled. No, Rush was NOT talking to women, he was just thinking out loud.

Have you ever had the experience where you or somebody else says something out loud and at least one other person within earshot assumes that it was meant for them? Especially if it could be perceived as negative or derogatory.

What is it about those “elephant-eared” people who seem to be conditioned to assume the worst? They’re better off just assuming that nobody’s talking to them and than more often than not, nobody give’s a rats ass about them anyway.

Ah, but there you go. They think everyone should give a rat’s ass AND two sh*ts about them, their views and their opinions of themselves.

As my grandmother used to say to the occasional complainer or whining grandkid, “Dry up and blow away!”.
