Hundreds marched through the streets of New York City on Wednesday night in memory of and to protest the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, in what organizers called the “Million Hoodie March.”

The march began in Manhattan’s Union Square, where a rally in support of Martin had taken place. Martin’s father Tracy Martin and mother Sybrina Fulton, in New York for interviews with major media outlets, made an appearance at the rally to thank the crowd for its enthusiasm. ”My heart is in pain,” Fulton said, according to the AP.

Million Hoodie March isn’t this usually referred to as a perp walk?

I find it slightly odd how "the first black president" Obama, who was so eager to comment on the Professor Gates controversy, strangely isn't touching this one with a ten foot pole. During yesterday's press briefing, when asked his press Secretary gave some extremely weak comment about it being a local matter and the Whitehouse not having any official position. In fact, if George W. Bush was still in office and made the same weak comment the entire "hoodie" march would have been about how the racist white guy in the oval office didn't care about blacks.

This leads me to believe that the Whitehouse has probably reviewed the same evidence the police and Prosecuting Attorney did and come to the same conclusion, that the shooting was justified. Because you know they would be the first to try to link "Obama 2012" to the "Hoodie Movement" if there was any real racism there.

Between this, the OWS gang and the Kony 2012 crap, this country is ticked and looking for a fight. Period.

I think I’m going to buy more rice.

Those TV's from back in the Rodney King day's are really showing their age. Many from "the community" have been looking for a chance to upgrade to a flat panel LCD or Plasma.

Tawana Brawley was certainly a big, fat lie. I will say that lie started with her and her mother, but yes Sharpton was part of it.

And yes, he is also to at least some degree responsible for the murders at Freddie’s Fashion Mart in Harlem. He railed against “white interlopers” because a Jewish guy owned the store, but having just checked this on Wiki evidently the white guy really had little to do with the situation, he was just a middle man. So Sharpton (and others) ranted and raved and then some crazy person went in, shot up the store and set it on fire. Seven store employees were murdered. The assailant also died.

”My heart is in pain,” Fulton said, according to the AP.

'But this all expense paid trip to NYC is way cool.' (BTW, who is paying for it?)

We are all still waiting for the march for the white kid who was set on fire, and for the elderly couple who were attacked by blacks (she was raped and murdered, he is clinging to life).

(more crickets)
