I had to read the last line of your excerpt twice to make sure it didn’t say something about farm animals using power tools.

Anyway, when I was a growing up a lot of the “minors” would go work the tobacco fields in the summer here in CT. Wicked hard work but the pay wasn’t too bad. I don’t know if they still do that but if the can’t employ the kids to do it, what’s the alternative? Illegal farm hands? Maybe that’s what the boob is after.

I think that the main reason is to replace children/teens and young relatives as farm workers with immigrants, legal and illegal, who will eventually become citizens and democratic voters or who will produce U.S. born children who will do the same job.

I personally made summer spending money picking fruit in the orchards of neighbors. I have never seen any kind of really bad accident even when we were using what would now be seen as unsafe 12 foot ladders to get those last cherries.

With this administration, it is always about politics, and its politics includes forming a permanent dem majority—that can't be done by any other method.

what’s the alternative?

Govt. owned and run farms as in communist countries......

The children would be in their govt. run schools, fast tracked in career directions according to their intelligence levels....
