Those 'Reagan Democrats' that the Republicans have ALWAYS needed to win will not vote for Romney. We might have had a fighting chance with Newt, but he wouldn't be pliable to the monied-interests aims and claims as Romney appears to be.

God save these United states!

Of course the author did not mention the biggest and most obvious reason why Obama would destroy Romney and that is "Bain Capital"...

The only way Romney can defeat Obama is if the gas prices are still very high by elections day.

Besides the fact that Mitt’s actual governance (not rhetoric) is too similar to Obama’s, he is winning predominantly in states Obama will easily carry. There is no reason to assume success by putting up a candidate to challenge them Dems on their home turf while failing to inspire our own base.

It’s getting harder and harder to see us anything but screwed.

The Great Community Organizer created OWS to run against Mr. Wall Street, AKA Mitt Romney.

Next summer OWS will burn the country to the ground ala the summer of 1968, and Ubama will blame Mr. Wall Street for it.

Meanwhile, state-controlled media will suddenly discover that Romney belongs to a weird religious sect that has all sorts of strange practices and beliefs.

“sitting presidents lost to charismatic leaders articulating bold visions.”

Newt = $2.50 gas, Newt also = charismatic leader articulating bold visions.

The Democrats must be overjoyed to have such a target-rich opponent. He's soundbite heaven.

Woe is we.

If Romney persisits in his “politics of personal destruction” against his fellow republican contenders; while doing the soft-shoe around Obama, he has no chance! He’s stiff and like Obama he can’t run on his record. That’s as plain as the nose on my face! He can’t run as Obama-lite. If Obama’s unacceptable, a cheap knock-off certainly won’t do!

Not only does Romney seem to lack the ability to inspire us with the ideas of our Declaration of Independence from a "big government" tyrant (King George III), and the similarity of that King's actions to the tyranny we face today, but he also cannot convey the "vision" thing for our future which harmed Bush 1's candidacy.

"The People" who make up the 60 - 70% of Republicans who don't vote for him likely have studied their American history accounts of Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and Madison. They are looking for a modern inspirational leader like Reagan--a man who had taken the personal time to immerse himself in the ideas essential to liberty, and was willing and able to recognize the enemies of freedom and to engage in a battle of ideas against the counterfeit ideas of socialism.

His casual writing off of the President as "a good man who is in over his head," or that "does not understand how the economy works," is either naive or a dangerous deliberate mischaracterization.

There are people who say:

"The told me Dole could win. He didn't.

"They told me McCain could win. He didn't.

"Now they tell me Romney can win. Why should I believe them?"

But there are also people who say:

"They told us not to nominate Dole. He couldn't win. But they never told us who could.

"They told us not to nominate McCain. He couldn't win. But they never told us who could.

"Now they're telling us not to nominate Romney. He can't win. But they don't tell us who could -- or how they could."

After retiring from nearly 40 years in ministry the one concept that was hard to explain was the Biblical concept that the wages of sin is death.
If Romney is the nominee and Obama wins another term. The concept of “the wages of sin is death” will be far easier to explain. Of course I doubt we even have a Republic in five more years, but the wages of...

- High gas prices
- Soaring debt
- Low morale in USA military
- Middle East & North Africa now controlled by Muslim radicals
- Iraq & Afghanistan lost to Muslim radicals
- Economy stagnant & listless
- Inflation on the march
- unemployment, under employee way too high
- USA not respected as world’s #1 leader
- Obama worked like a puppet by other world leaders & USA enemies
- Iran will get a nuclear bomb, thanks to Obama, Inc.
- USA going bankrupt under Obama & Democrats
- Freedom & Liberty slipping away in the USA
- Obama working with passion to bring the USA down
- And....on & on & on with America detractor Barack Hussein Obama!!!

Forget Romney, forget Santorum, forget Paul, forget Gingrich.

A blind monkey, with one hand tied behind his back will beat Obama politically in a runaway landslide.

Forget the media Obama spin, forget the Obama fundraising, forget the Obama videos. A failure is a failure!!! And....such is Obama!!! End of story!!!

Romney will get SLAUGHTERED by Obama. I don’t care who he picks to run with him. Personally, the VP slot means nothing to me.

Romney’s MANY problems aside, people never vote for “lite”. They will not vote Obama-lite, they will vote Obama.

Me? Third Party if he is nominated.

Amazingly the author left out the Mormon issue. While no one will talk about it for fear of being called a bigot, a sizeable number of evangelicals will look at his campaign as a stepping stone to God-hood and just won’t vote for him. Even if that is 3% of the vote, that is the winning margin.

I completely disagree. I think that conservatives are loudly expressing their preference for a non-Romney. However, they are more strongly non-Obama. The very people that are not supporting Romney will come out to vote against Obama no matter who the Republicans put up.

I pray.
