Contestant Elise Testone on Fox's fading pop star showcase "American Idol" sang a duet of sorts with Obama this week as part of her cover performance of the Al Green classic "Let's Stay Together."
Just imagine anything of the sort being done with former President George W. Bush. Impossible, we know. But now word is out that a spiritual "Idol" wannabe has been told in no uncertain terms by the producers not to sing the praises of Jesus Christ, according to The Daily News:
American Idol” producers have apparently warned Colton Dixon if he doesn’t tone down his overtly Christian act, he won’t have a prayer of winning the reality competition.
The 20-year-old devout Christian, though, told Today.com that he answers to a higher authority than voting viewers.
When we first started the Twitter and Facebook stuff, they said beware of political and religious tweets,” Dixon told the site. “Just because it can turn off voters or whatever. But, you know, being a Christian is who I am. It is a part of me musically. It is what I want to do after the show — go into Christian music.
So singers giving a shout out to the Lord might be offensive to some viewers, but a segment glorifying Obama, a divisive president hampered with sagging poll numbers, is A-OK with the show's producers?

J-Lo’s getting a little cottage cheese on those thighs. But with a caboose like hers it is probably impossible not to...
Controversy = publicity.
The show is fading - so a Tebow moment is required.
Have not watched it for several years - stale and predictable.
Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive, and by extension, so offensive to the rest of America?
(I know I know.....call it a rhetorical question.)
Sounds like American Idol isn’t going to let the voting viewers decide.
Christians are the new smokers. The PC libs are going to marginalize us through the media.
BTW: If you haven’t canceled HBO yet...today is a nice Saturday to take the time to do that. Remember to tell them you are sick of their political bias. They will offer you a “special” $5 monthly charge...or it’ll be offered for free for six months. Tell them NO Thanks.
Money talks.
Nice shoes.

The Real Story Behind Rev. Wright's Controversial Black Liberation Theology Doctrine
Monday , May 5, 2008
FoxNews/Hannity's America
[special Friday night edition--original airdate May 2, 2008]
(some key excerpts)
["(Jose) Diaz-Balart is the son of Rafael Diaz-Balart y Guitierrez (a former Cuban politician). He has three bothers, Rafael Diaz-Balart (a banker), Mario Diaz-Balart (a US Congressman) and Lincoln Diaz-Balart (also a US Congressman). His aunt, Mirta Diaz-Balart, was Fidel Castro's first wife."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Diaz-Balart]
JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.
I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."
REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."
SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

The top two last year were solid Christian conservatives who routed Lady GaGa and the evil left performers there
Thanks NYer.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, all!
Which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the whole contest is rigged. Cast your vote by cell phone? Gimme a friggin' break.
“Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive”
I always wonder why they are so offended and critical of christians, but seem to be latching on to muslims in droves. Some of the biggest libs I know defend muslims and are supportive of them. Muslims outwardly suppress women and gays, yet the liberals love them.
Must be that fascist mentalities are attracted to each other. And, lets face it, liberals are hypocrites at their core anyway.
Hmmm... Did they warn Joshua Ledet (the minister's son and gospel singer)? I haven't been paying real close attention to Dixon because I don't care much for his singing and think "a prayer of winning" is all he really does have, but it seems to me Ledet has been a lot more overtly Christian in his performances than Dixon. It's just seems strange to me they would warn Dixon and not Ledet.
Cant stand her after her “puta” comment about Mrs. Palin.
“Idol” is the word, and the thing.
Then of the Ten Commandments?
I remember this so well from last season from the winner, Scotty after working with Lady Gaga:
McCreery did say he felt like kissing his cross necklace and saying, “Lord, this is not my doing.”
It’s a given that blacks can praise Jesus like there’s no tomorrow, but for whites? That’s a big no-no.
“American” WHAT?
Those ridiculous shoes look like something out of a cartoon of Olive Oyl or Minnie Mouse
I saw this on “Idol,” and I got the clear impression that it was mocking Zero’s singing. It was hardly a “duet.” The whole thing lasted no more that 3 - 4 seconds.
“Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive”...
Because of the (true) Christian’s God, the Holy One, the Most High One—they do not want to be accountable to Him.
Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17 and said that the world hates them because they are not of the world, even as He is not of the world. He told them that the world had hated Him first.
Christianity holds a mirror to ones soul, the left does not like what it sees and wants to destroy the mirror, the right doesn’t like what it sees and asks for forgiveness and a desire to change.
Wright's "church" seems to have removed it from their website. Does anyone have -- or know where to get -- a copy of the original?
Ping.
Now THAT is a fantastic tagline, svcw!

"Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal".--James (Jim) Cone,
African American Religious Thought: An Anthology (Paperback)

SEAN HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"
WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.
HANNITY: But I'm a reverend
WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

Although it [The New Black Panther Party] says it sees capitalism as the fundamental problem with the world and revolution as the solution, the new party does not draw its influences from Marxism or Maoism as the original party did. Instead, in a carefully-worded, roundabout form of ethnic nationalism,[8] they say that Marx based his ideology and teachings on indigenous African cultures, and that the NBPP therefore need not look to Marxism or Maoism as a basis for their program, but can look to ideologies that stem directly from those African origins.

"The Justice Department originally brought the case against four armed men who witnesses say derided voters with catcalls of "white devil" and "cracker" and told voters they should prepare to be "ruled by the black man." ..."
One poll watcher called police after he reportedly saw one of the men brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters.
As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other, the witness told Fox News at the time. So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said theyd been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.
He said the man with a nightstick told him, Were tired of white supremacy, and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, OK, were not going to get in a fistfight right here, and I called the police....

Shock Photos: Candidate Obama Appeared And Marched With New Black Panther Party in 2007:

Yes, and the contestant may not have even had any say over it. She just happened to be singing the same song BO "sang," so they spliced a little "duet" together. If I were that contestant, I'd be furious because people who hate Obama might be inclined not to vote for her because of it.
As for Colton Dixon, it looks to me like the producers told all of the contestants to beware of political and religious tweets, but did not single out Colton or order them NOT to post such tweets. Colton is just the only one who's talking about it. I actually agree with the producers about the political tweets. But I'm glad to learn Colton is not going to stop with the Christian tweets. Last year's winner was very open about his Christianity, and there have been several other outspoken Christians who have done very well on the show. So I don't think Colton's posts will hurt him at all.
Why is Jennifer Lopez wearing silly animal print bedroom slippers on TV?
In Arkansas, we call that ‘hail damage’ on the thighs.
“The show is fading -
Have not watched it for several years.”
Thanx for the first-hand observation.
LOL!!!
According to the article - the show is fading. I only know that I don’t watch it - so that’s one fade right there;)
J-Ho is a no talent hack.
Let’s hear you sing without a microphone, J-Ho, and no dancing allowed, because anyone with a brain knows you can’t sing and dance at the same time, you little lip syncher you.
These folks like J-Lo etc have forgotten the economic system and the values that made this country and what got them to where they are. To go forward they must now embrace the out-of-wedlock kids, drugs, gay rights, and the radical feminist agenda. Unless we hit back and hit back hard, they won’t get the message. Let’s use the tactic of the left- Call the advertisers and threaten boycotts. Nothing else works.

Fading a little, but not badly for a 10 year old show.
I watch the show for the singing and secondly the judges comments. Miss Simon. These judges are too easy, however they seem to have become more critical (and inconsistent) in the last two weeks.
There are 3 singers on this year who are among the best ever. And the group is highly competitive.
I hope it stays on forever.
If someone wants to do a church song, let em bring it and be judged against the others. In fact, they might consider a gospel themed week for a change of pace. Don’t think they have done that. Elvis did it, why not Idol.
Cellulite = the way fat is stored in some areas. Even my babies had it, and they were not fat.
Wright’s “church” seems to have removed it from their website. Does anyone have — or know where to get — a copy of the original?
I don’t know if this is helpful but it was on FR at one time, and also Sean hannity had it too.
What the hell has happened to Breitbart? His site, Big Government, is running an ad now for Alan Grayson for Congress, at the very bottom. Sick, sick, sick.
Those are google ads. I don't know how they work but Breitbart's site doesn't get money directly from Grayson.
Ah yes, Elvis’ Gospel collection. My favorite recordings of all time.
He was the most talented singer ever.
His was a gift of vocal purity and soul.
RIP Elvis.
It's a bit tricky but for those who thrive on challenge, quite doable. First you will need the web address for Rev. Wright's Church: http://www.tucc.org/
You will also need an approximate timeframe for when that statement appeared on his site.
Go to the Wayback Machine: http://www.archive.org/index.php
In the search box, enter the church's web site address. Select the type of search you are making from the drop down menu adjacent to the search box. It will bring up a calendar with highlighted dates. You then visit each date to see if the statement appears on that date. Cross your fingers and 'Good Luck!'.
About Us
We are a congregation which is Unashamedly White and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the White religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an American people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a White worship service and ministries which address the White Community.
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the White Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These White Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Whites are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
The document is verbatim from the files of Jeremiah Wright's TUCC website, ca 2008 -- when Øbozo had been attending there for 20 years.
All I did was replace "Black" with "White" and "African" with "American" -- and add emphasis and color.

Let us see....This guy IS a member of one of the largest professions that has a record of ———RECORD FAILURE!.....Black pastors have led,let a 75-80 % bastardy rate befall their tribe.... With ALL the attendant problems![which DEMS have been promising to cure since FDR]
NUFF SAID!
Pure racism.
During those 20 years we white people were being raised to be color blind, to believe skin color didn’t matter, to treat everyone alike.
There can’t be equality if one side is more equal than the other.
