Today marked the first day of a major standoff in the judicial nomination war, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) tried to break loose 17 judicial nominees tied up by Republicans.
On the floor of the Senate, he offered to bring a quick vote on the JOBS Act, a Republican-led jobs bill that passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, in return for Republicans dropping their opposition to the nominees.

The smart thing for the Pubbies to do would be to hold firm, which of course means they’ll cave and take the proffered “deal.”

Correct. Those 17 Commies would undo any benefit that may have been produced by this JOBS bill (which probably would be a wash anyway). Classical lose-lose situation, which is why I see McConnell going for it.
McConnell and Boehner make out party all but useless.
If Republicans actually had a pair, they could make political hay out of this. Picture the commercials "Why is Harry Reid threatening to hold the Jobs Bill hostage? Don't you want American's to find jobs Senator?"
The Repubs have had 50-100 chances to make political hay and they blow it every time/
Republicans do have a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I bet not one of the blowhards to this post so far have bothered to contact their Senators in support of holding up the rat judicial nominees.
But, led by freshman Sen. Mike Lee (R., Utah), has been tying down nominations in retaliation for President Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Board.
What do the people want: Liberal Judges or Jobs?
JUST like it never happened.
So you pass the bill and Barry vetoes it, or it’s bogged down in negotiations, and you still have 17 more marxists on the bench.
I’d take a play from out of the RAT playbook. Take them up on the offer long enough to get the JOBS act passed and then call of the deal and continue to hold up the judges.
