FORT WORTH, Texas — Gun sales are booming across Texas, and some buyers say their growing belief that President Barack Obama will inevitably be re-elected is fueling their race to bear more arms.
And sales haven't just risen in Texas. There's been a rush nationwide, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram ( http://bit.ly/y3YDO6) reported in Sunday's edition.
The Cheaper than Dirt gun store in Fort Worth set a sales record for February, said store owner DeWayne Irwin, who described the rush as similar to one seen shortly after Obama's 2008 election.
"We're at the top of the roller coaster, and we're about to plummet down the side," Irwin told the Star-Telegram. "It's fixing to happen again. I don't know if it will be to the same extent it was before, but I see it coming."
Alan Korwin, author of nine books on gun laws and operator of a gun laws website, said peopleare worried that Obama's re-election would embolden a major gun control push.

As a father of young children, I truly fear for their future should the usurper cling to power.
I think he is going to lose too, but will be buying guns in the comjng months I believe will be outlawed just in case.

I’m in Texas, bought a Ruger hand gun early last week - there I was, a woman having a good time with the Texas Red Necks who were there, too, only they were buying ammo. A man came in a little later to buy a gun.
I was surprised there were that many men at one time buying ammo.
It takes 30-45 min. for all the paperwork, then you get the gun. I couldn’t believe one of the questions I had to answer: “Are you a wanted felon?” Yes or No. I laughed out loud at that one.
I recently joined a 2nd gun club. They had a mandatory safety class for all new members. There were about 60 people who signed up just that one month.
It's good these days to be in the firearms business.

There was a guy just down the road from me ripping off bursts from (I believe) an AR-15 all afternoon.
The guy is doing his best to reshape America with his friends the MB and Ayers.... add in race based, religious con tent by the great divider.

I went to a show this weekend where you normally just pay and walk in. The parking lot was jammed and there was a line running for more than the length of the exhibition hall. Gun prices appeared to be ~$200 north of market on anything nice. There was a constant stream of people leaving with hand trucks and luggage carts stacked with ammo. Also noticed a lot of men looking to sell long guns and pistols. Most of the sales appeared to be handguns, though one guy did buy a mint sks before I got back to it. When entering the section of the hall where the big ammo dealer was, it was literally physical contact on all sides; it looked like one of those Japanese subway videos where they have “pusher” employees to cram the maximum number of riders into the cars. I go to just about every local show and I’ve never seen people buying ammo by the (multiple!) crate the way they were this weekend. It was actually a little spooky to see.
Mittens isn’t any better than Obammy. Don’t rest on your laurels if Mittens is the nominee. We better focus on the house and senate either way. I’m afraid what with Obammy’s leftist bent and Mittens NE liberal conceding approach to governing we’re screwed either way. The real danger is if either one of these bozos gets in the Supreme Court is lost. BOTH Obammy & Mittens are proven anti 2nd Amendment traitors.
I went to my gun shop to see what they had in trade in, the rack (one) had nine rifles. The place was packed and the Henry 22 mangum I wanted isn’t to had, it way over ordered.
And let’s face it, if we have a right to FREE birth control, we also have a right to FREE guns. It’s one of the few contemporary Rights that actually IS in the Constitution...
I will be getting in line for my FREE B.A.R. and a couple 1911 .45’s. Thank you very much...
It’s spring. We saw the unwashed occupiers during the winter, and fully expect them to pop on back up as the push to re-elect Obama gets into full swing.
It will be the summer of I Wants, I betcha, with dueling priests of the Gimme religion going against each other. High gas prices, high food prices, and a budget so blown to pieces that 2 trillion in debt will likely be racked up before the election.

Hubby and I went to a gun show in Georgia yesterday only to find the line to get in was all with way around the building- the show opened at 9 am and it was 1 pm!!! The was a line of cars to get to the parking lot and I figure the additional line of about 40-50 cars was waiting for unavailable parking spaces.
Went today instead and some vendors packed it up and had left- they sold everything yesterday!!

College and study create a stressful environment. Nothing helps to ease that stress better than copious amounts of alcohol on the weekends. Sure, it's a choice, but it helps me in my day to day. And, hell, everyone drinks beer on the weekend at college, right? But alcohol is getting expensive. Inflation is making it almost unaffordable. It's not right. So, going forward, the government really should start subsidizing my need for a kegger on the weekend. Everyone KNOWS we're gonna drink and everyone knows the dangers and costs drinking might create on society. It only makes sense that my daily six-pack needs should be paid for by taxpayers. Everyone's doing it.

Ive seen the same thing. I bought an ar15 last weekend from a small gun store that just opened up, in a town of 13,000. While I was there he sold two more ar15’s and was completely out of. 223 ammo. I went back in this weekend to buy a few extra clips, and he had two more guys there looking at ar’s. And another 4 guys looking at other stuff. As for people who don’t think obama can be re-elected, remember 50% of the country is on some kind of welfare, and pay no taxes, those people don’t want to lose uncle sugar. We have an attorney general who will turn a blind eye to votor fraud and a media that will ignore it. Gas prices will fall shortly before the election. If we take any action on Iran, it will be around October, you can count on it.
Gotta get more ammo.

This weekend there was a local gun show, 1/2 line of cars to get into the parking lot a couple of hours after it opened, skipped that and went to gun store and walmart for ammo.
I got the last few boxes of 00 buck shot at both places.

Magazines. Not clips. You use clips on some revolvers and on fixed magazine semi automatic rifles. AR15s use magazines.

I agree. Its what happens between now and November as Obama calls out his activist thugs to terrorize America, that causes the gun rush.
Riots , just like Obama had Odinga do in Kenya in Nov. 2007. If you are a fascist in power like Obama, you terrorize the electorate to get your way.The people will shoot back.The question will be whether Obama will declare martial law and postpone the election? The guns being purchased right now may figure significantly in that equation.
I believe that this will be the nastiest campaign at the very least, since the civil war. And this will certainly be the most corrupt election in history, with rampant voter fraud and huge numbers of illegal aliens voting.

Firearms and ammunition should be TAX FREE including sales tax. I know the tax on ammunition is supposed to go for wildlife, parks or some kind of conservation that could benefit hunters but I doubt much of it benefits hunters anyway and probably none of it benefits sports shooters and why should we be taxed to exercise our Second Amendment rights?
A recent study on Oregon showed 20% of concealed carry licenses were held by women. It’s a good time to buy Sturm Ruger stock!

Not just gun stores but ranges are busy as well. Went the other night to our local indoor range, over a one hour wait to get a lane.

The sad truth is the ones who would be most likely to Rape, Murder, break into our homes and steal our guns and the things we buy them to protect are the ones most likely to vote for Barack Hussein. If you consider the great number of his supporters (most of them uncounted in the recent census) you can see how he could win. The key is getting all of them to party the night away on election eve so they won’t get out of bed in time to vote on election day. In an effort on my part to cost him votes I plan to personally host an all night disco party on election eve. I am going to spread the word that the election was already held and that he has already won so there’s no need to go vote.
Oh, he’ll distort, aggravate, lie, and agitate. He is doing it now to Rush, and he has done it to the Tea Party, Republicans in general, and conservatives in particular.
We just have to keep fighting—and not put up with the bull^$*#.

We're never going to completely rid ourselves of the damage this AA as*hole and all his cabal have unleashed on our nation, win or lose in November.
