Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain will stump on behalf of Newt Gingrich in Cleveland this Saturday.
Cain will deliver his speech at Lee University's Rose Lecture Hall at 1 p.m. The event, hosted by the Lee University College Republicans, is free and open to the public.
Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, is most recently known for running an unconventional, unsuccessful campaign for the Republican nomination last year. His 9-9-9 tax reform plan briefly made him the GOP front-runner until allegations regarding extramarital affairs dismantled his campaign.
The speech comes less than one week before Tennessee voters go to the polls on Super Tuesday.
Herman wants a job....gotta get out of the house??
Herman was great on Huckabee’s show last weekend, maybe he’ll get Newt down to another “9” tonight.
Info ping. Go Newt. ;-)
I sense a Newt resurgence. A lot of Newt threads this morning.
I sure hope so.
Actually, it doesn’t sound to me like he has been around the house with Mrs. Herman for a long time...
That said, I really disliked Cain a few months ago because I thought he let a lot of people down. But then when I gave it more consideration, I realized that he had probably had no idea that his campaign was going to be taken so seriously and he was blindsided by his popularity. I think he just expected to make a point or two and then go back to his radio show.
He didn’t react well and I think he left a lot of his supporters high and dry. But now I don’t think it was cynical or intentional. I think Cain is genuinely conservative, and maybe he’s learned a lesson or two about how life is in the big world outside of the pulpit and the radio station, and maybe now he can be effective.
