One of two things are evident here:
1) He’s either absolutely deluded into thinking he’s going to get re-elected.
OR
2) He knows for whatever reason that it’s in the bag and he’s got no worries (as in he KNOWS there’s gonna be fraud/fixing and there’s nothing We The People can do about it).
Which one’s more likely?
” He KNOWS theres gonna be fraud/fixing and theres nothing We The People can do about it” If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. Or, If you want to hear him laugh even louder, tell him how much you know. Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ Luke 12:20
3.) He's saying he'll be re-elected because that's what candidates do.
The former.
He is just saying 5 years but he is counting on the “el presidente for life” thing...
I hope it’s not #2. Things will get quite messy around here if that is the option chosen.
You are reading way too much into it.
In 2008 at the conventions both Obama and McCain were introduced as the next President. The Republican candidates now are saying things like “on my first day in office”. It’s just campaign talk. Prizefighters do the same thing.
Alternately you could compare it to a man ill with cancer booking a family vacation for 6 months in the future, operating under the assumption that he will not die before then. ;)
