Even in peace time, being part of a military fighting force is in and of itself inherently dangerous. Our warriors have to train as if they were actually fighting, so that when the time comes, they will fight like they train. It is an incredible testament to the professionalism of our men and women of the US armed forces that these inevitable incidents don't occur far more often.

I wonder if night vision goggles were involved. Don’t they tend to reduce depth of field? No details yet, was it a head on or side to side collision?
So sad this happens when we have such great technology and training...
