Newt makes me nervous when he says he can “guarantee” gas at a particular price, or a reduction by a particular date. Made me nervous when Sarah Palin talked that way as well. Markets just don’t work that way. Yes, more supply will over the long run rein in prices, but I would not want to have to guarantee $2.50 by such and such a date.

Also, the American public sadly will not sit thru a 30 minute speech at this point. Needs to make his point in short, choppy sound bites.

“The answer to Governor Romney’s 30 second attack ads filled with garbage is a 30 minute address filled with substance”

It's also easy to digest and makes you hungry for more.

NEWT ENRICHES! The others throw garbage.

If you love good Newt speeches, watch this one on the Tube. It’s called “Gingrich to Michigan: Change or Die” from 2010 but the message applies to the entire nation. Haven’t watched the new one yet but this one is my favorite Newt speech so far:

Thanks. I'll watch it, before this evening debate, as appetizer. :)

Time magazine, in naming him Man of the Year for 1995, wrote: “Leaders make things possible. Exceptional leaders make them inevitable. Newt Gingrich belongs in the category of the exceptional.”

STANDING OVATION, HERE AND NOW. This is the man we need NOW.

He speaks of things some would call UNREALISTIC? They kidding, we are AMERICANS and have ALWAYS done the unrealistic things in a short time frame. WE ARE AMERICANS thats why we can and do get things done.

NEWT IS A VISIONARY and OPTOMISTIC, he sees what needs to be done and the how of it.

I don't need a spiritual leader, I have a minister to do that and I know morals (they were taught by my parents), I want an ENERGY, ECONOMY leader who will destroy everything OBAMA. Energy, oil and gas production is our Economy.

I want America to be the new DUBAI, we built that damned place, made them filthy rich and they still hate us and teach hate. Time to bring it home.

LORD please give us NEWT GINGRICH. Sending this video out to all my email addresses. Newt knows his stuff.

You won't see NEWT with his feet our OUR FURNITURE in the oval office, you probably won't see him there without a suit and tie, he will bring respect back to OUR White House. He will not BOW to any leader. God love you NEWT, we sure do.

Thanks, just sent it out in a large emailing.

I will keep using the term VISIONARY when speaking of NEWT.

Santorum says he is not a manager or a visionary. WELL Rick, a visionary is exactly what I want. America was built on visions of greatness. You can't do the job, move over here comes NEWT.

“Santorum says he is not a manager or a visionary. WELL Rick, a visionary is exactly what I want.”

Santorum’s most grievous and frightening error was to state publicly that he does not believe American adults have ANY right to privacy, not even within their own homes.

I’m totally opposed to his vision.

“I will keep using the term VISIONARY when speaking of NEWT.”

Everybody should have read Newt’s book “To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine”, which decisively moved me in his camp.

http://www.hebookservice.com/products/BookPage.asp?prod_cd=c7598

“This danger to America,” Gingrich says, “is greater than anything I dreamed possible after we won the Cold War, and the Soviet Union disappeared in December 1991. We now face a dire threat to America here at home. We stand at a crossroads: either we will save our country or we will lose it.” That’s why he wrote To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine.

The Left, Gingrich explains, has expanded their power through their control of academia, the elite news media, union leaders, trial lawyers, the bureaucracy, the courts, and lobbyists at the state and federal levels. They share a vision of a secular, socialist America run for the interests of the members of the political machine that keeps them in power. It will be an America where government dominates the people rather than represents them. In short, they want to use government power to change who we are and how we think. And Barack Obama is working hard to impose that vision upon America right now.

Gingrich explains why “secular-socialist machine” is the only way to describe the Left; exposes the lies that Leftists have told America; explores the secular-socialist machine’s health bill disaster and involvement in ACORN’s vote fraud; and even details why Big Business and the secular-socialist machine are not enemies, but are actually natural allies. He exposes the Left’s immense corruption as well, including the corruption of climate science and corruption at the United Nations.

But that is not all: Gingrich offers a plan to defeat the secular-socialist regime and herald a new era of America prosperity in which small businesses flourish, the entitlement state is dismantled, better healthcare is available at a lower cost (without healthcare fraud), religious liberty is protected, and the education crisis is solved. It’s a bold vision for a bold people — and the need for it is urgent. “The secular-socialist machine,” Gingrich argues persuasively, “represents as great a threat to America as Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union once did.” That’s why saving America is the fundamental challenge of our time — and To Save America essential reading for anyone who loves America.

Gingrich sounds the alarm:

How the America in which we grew up is vastly different from the America the secular-socialist Left wants to create

Barack Obama: how everything we cherish about America is something he thinks is not so special, not so very different from any other country

How, if the Left stays in power, it will transform America into a radically different nation — a union- dominated, bureaucratically controlled, high-tax, low- growth country in which powerful politicians impose their will on an exhausted, submissive citizenry

Why we must repeal the 2010 big-government healthcare “reform” — passed on a narrow partisan basis with extraordinary corruption and bribery — and start over in the right direction with the right policies

How the U.S. government traditionally regarded the protection of American lives as its top priority: our primary concern with captured terrorists (or pirates, their old equivalent) was interrogating them and using that information to stop further attacks – but now the secular socialists want to give our enemies the same constitutional protections we afford our own citizens, effectively placing the rights of terrorists ahead of the lives of Americans

The extremist environmental movement: how it asserts that we will soon face global warming-induced environmental catastrophes that can only be avoided by forcing Western capitalist nations, especially America, to adopt devastating energy taxes, ruinous new environmental regulations, and a massive wealth transfer to developing countries (a mantra that has become so popular both among the American Left and abroad that even Osama bin Laden in a recent recording thought he could win converts by blaming the West for global warming) — but how this narrative fails to recognize that capitalist democracies are among the most environmentally conscious nations in the world

The Left’s challenge to American exceptionalism — the idea that America has a special mission to protect and spread freedom: for the secular-socialist Left, however, America is an exploitive, imperialist aggressor, and that the U.S. military is an evil tool of corporate interests

The secular-socialist machine’s values: how they differ from traditional American values: while Americans have always respected hard work, entrepreneurship, innovation, and merit-based upward mobility, the Leftist machine rewards its members, punishes “overachievers,” kills jobs by over-taxing small businesses, and even exploits your death to tax the savings you hope to pass on to your children and grandchildren

Why the UN tolerates corruption: it’s viewed as another way to transfer wealth from developed to developing countries

Healthcare: innovative, practical reforms to enable Americans to build a system that is available, affordable, and appropriate for every citizen

God in America: how, while traditional America was based on a profound belief that “we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights,” secular socialists are so opposed to God in public life that they can’t tolerate school prayer or even allow a cross to stand in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

Let me save the intellectually challenged anti-Newt morons some trouble by beating them to the punch...

But...but...Newt sat on the couch with Pelosi and Glenn Beck said he's a progressive! Newt is eeeeeeeviiiiiiiillll, and old, fat and white! And I'm much too stupid to understand anything he says! He uses too many big words that scare my feeble, peanut-sized brain!

I watched it. WOW. Newt sounds so like Churchill, when he warns the people of Michigan that the task of redressing the state will be hard, difficult and asks for determination of the whole community.

It reminded me of Winston Churchill’s speech during the period of the Battle of France in 1940 WWII:

” I would say to the House as I said to those who have joined this government: I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering.

You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs — Victory in spite of all terror — Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.”
