If you’re gonna hunt, put the animal to use and eat the damn thing.

I doubt it would taste good. Perhaps he can give it to some Chinese restaurant.

It's more like pest control. That cat is a predator that reduces the supply of game deer for hunters, as well as killing livestock, pets, and the occasional human.

That would indeed be a way to keep Chinese restaurants in a copious supply of cat, without offending too many people.

Fair enough on the pest control factor. If the mountain lion numbers are a problem and it is deemed the numbers need to be controlled or brought down for public safety, I support it. I don’t support just going out and trophy hunting for no reason other than to get a vanity item in your house. It’s the kind of mentality that leads to these amazing animals becoming endangered.

Exactly. These large cats are at the top of the food chain. They are willing and sometimes eager to eat us or our children. If no one ever kills one, what happens to their population? They would eventually be prowling the suburbs.

I’ve eaten cougar ham and it is fine, not much different than normal ham if at all. It was served at a potluck type dinner for a large hunting group and their families and many tried it.

For most it’s the thought of eating cat that stops them, there’s not a thing wrong with it in my view.

I read an interview that was done by Ted Nugent a while back in which he stated that he ate everything he killed

He also stated that he had killed his first and last porcupine ... said it tasted like a soggy creosote post.
