Mitt Romney won the presidential straw poll Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, an unofficial endorsement from party activists that nevertheless helps the former Massachusetts governor burnish his conservative image.
The Republican presidential candidate won with 38 percent of the vote at the Washington conference, the leading annual meet-up of American conservatives. The victory breaks a two-year winning streak by Ron Paul.

Mitt Romney will NOT get this families vote...so be it if we have four more of Hussein, he has already bought the election, why waste money changing of the guard...maybe in 2016 there will be someone worth fighting for...
and will pray that Romney’s wife and family will not let him blow more of their money trying to buy it...
what a sad country my family fought for...God Bless all the veterans who gave their ALL for this Nation.
Yawn.
Bullc...,Horse Hockey
Some people do.
Mitt’s just stealing a play from Ron Paul’s playbook, which is pack the voting with your supporters who are there for no other reason than to vote for you in these dumb straw polls.
Didn’t Ron Paul win it last year?
Romney won the CPAC straw vote in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Ron Paul won in 2010 and 2011.
It doesn’t seem to merit the attention it gets.
Hot tar and feathers....are my choices when dealing with Rino-tent mongers.
Sorry, don’t understand that one. Exactly whose vagina would be favoring Romney? (Or maybe I don’t want to know?)
Romney seems to be pretty popular with men as well as women. Women actually seem to go more for Santorum because he’s boyish and wimpy, and I guess that’s perceived as non-threatening.
Check the participants’ Mormon credentials... bet you anything, they had a bunch there...
Here is what they will not tell you. This is the first year CPAC changed the way the voting is done since Ron Paul traditionally wins.
They went to some sort of electronic ballot instead of the traditional way. But hey don’t worry it’s not rigged... ;)
Simple. While the conservatives were in there listening to Sarah Palin, the Romneybots were busy stuffing ballot boxes.
Of the reported 10,000 attendees only 3408 voted. So much for a true conservative convention.
Paul usually wins the online polls. I think the point of them changing the system was that a single candidate could not rig it, as it was spread out over several days and not just the last night, “bus em in, vote and leave.”
I don’t know how they did it, but if it was a simple online deal, Paul would have kicked butt. I’m glad it wasn’t this time.
