It's kind of obvious that the "controversial" figure in the ad is a young Chinese-American actress who is playing the role of (Communist) Chinese lady riding a bicycle in China. Her English is unaccented, much better than what one would expect from the person she is playing.
The Asian-American spokesperson quoted by the L. A. Slimes should be happy that this young Chinese-American woman has an opportunity for a prominent, if brief, role where she can get noticed by a wide Super Bowl audience, rather than quibble over an ungrammatical word or two in the script.
"Debbie Spenditnow": not a bad nickname.
And again I ask, why outsource the ad to CA? Couldn’t they have filmed a “Chinese” factory owner at a Michigan location using Michigan based actors and film crews?
