BANGOR, Maine They tried to play nice, but it was pretty clear at Saturdays Penobscot County super caucus that the Republican candidates vying for U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowes senate seat are not happy with her actions in Washington.
Snowe, a three-term senator and former eight-term U.S. House member, was the first to speak at the political gathering of Republicans from 25 municipalities. They came together at Husson University to elect delegates to the state convention in May and participate in a presidential preference straw poll.
Regardless of who the nominee is, come 2013 we will have a Republican back in the White House, Snowe said to get the troops rallied. She added later that, We must pull out all the stops to ensure President Barack Obama is a one-term president.
During Obamas State of the Union address on Jan. 24, he mentioned reforming the executive branch of government, Snowe said, adding that when she heard him say that, she immediately had her own remedy.
I thought to myself, That can be arranged lets start at the top, the 33-year veteran lawmaker told fellow Maine Republicans.
Snowe, who has never lost an election, went on to say that Congress needs to pass a balanced budget, reduce the deficit and fix or repeal the health care law, which she dubbed Obamacare.
Her opponents spoke next. Republican candidate Scott DAmboise of Lisbon Falls said Snowe is not fiscally conservative enough, and a representative for Andrew Ian Dodge of Harpswell said that when Snowe voted to pass the health care law, she clearly supported it.

That goes well with Romney, the Massachusetts liberal who wrote Obamacare.
Tried playing nice? Idiot. Nice equals naive. Throw them ALL out!
OLA
Remember Miller and Murkowski in Alaska. Snowe would pull that in a heartbeat, too, and the RSC would back her 100%.
And some day Maine will have a republican in the Senate.
Romney is as much of a “Republican” as Snowe, if that matters to anyone.
Actually she did not. However, she did vote for a separate bill in a committee that was about 90% as bad.
They didn't support Murkowski when she did it, why would they support Snowe? But for the NRSC Miller wouldn't have had much of a campaign presence at all.
Why the long face, Seabiscuit?
Thanks mdittmar.

And therein lies much of the problem....
ROTFLMAO!
Is it time for another Snowe job?
Like McStain, she runs conservative and votes liberal.
“Regardless of who the nominee is, come 2013 we will have a Republican back in the White House,”
Why would she even care?
when Snowe voted to pass the health care law, she clearly supported it.
The internal polling for the CINOs such as this leftscum Snowe must be awful...
Did Snowe get struck by lightning or take a hard blow to the head or is she just running scared?
I would love to see Senator D’Amboise.
Correct. Snowe voted for the Baucus bill in the Finance Committee. The RATS controlled that committee 13-8, so Snowe’s vote made the margin 12-9.
It is correct to say that Snowe’s vote DID give Baucus (and Obama) a veneer of bipartisan support.
However, as you note, Snowe voted against cloture on the floor and against final passage.
