Kenosha Democratic leader investigated for political emails

She was sending out political messages while at work for Kenosha County and now Republicans are calling for action.

A complaint alleges that Mary Jonker of the Kenosha County Child Services Department, sent out emails with her county address asking people to recall Walker.

Kenosha County Republican Chairman Matt Augustine has filed a complaint with the state and county, even district attorney's office, saying, "This stuff can't be tolerated, we want open and honest government we want people to do the right things and this is another example of things being done that shouldn't be".

Augustine says he discovered that Mary Jonker -- the Kenosha County Democratic Chairwoman had sent out several emails in November -- one in which she encouraged supporters to join her in the recall efforts against Gov. Scott Walker. The messages were allegedly sent while she was working for the county from her county email account. TODAY'S TMJ4 wanted to hear what Jonker had to say about her emails but when TODAY'S TMJ4 tried to speak with her, but her boss at child services appeared instead.

"She will not be coming out to speak with you...And that's based on legal advice," said Jonker's boss.

Republicans have faced similar accusations. An ongoing John Doe investigation in Milwaukee County is examining whether staffers for then-County Executive Scott Walker may have used county resources for campaign purposes.

TODAY'S TMJ4 wanted to get a comment from the Wisconsin Democratic Party but they denied to comment.

A Kenosha County board member has confirmed to TODAY'S TMJ4 that he is looking into the case. He's trying to figure out if this is a widespread problem or isolated incident.

Another example of misuse of public resources and a violation of the rules by Democrats who will do "whatever it takes" to win.

Kudos to WTMJ and the Kenosha County Republican chairman who is interviewed in the video for pushing this and shining the light of day into these dark RATholes.

Commies believe that they are above the law. Having said that, she’ll probably be put on paid administrative leave for a couple of weeks before they let her back in to send out more emails.

I’m sure the punishment will be minimal and the AFSCME or whatever union will defend her to the hilt, but still - each time the RATs are held to account is a good day for our side.

As Chairman of a Wisconsin County Personnel Committee, I can assue you she will be reprimanded. Alas, she will then file a grivance which will be denied, sent to arbitration and the County will loose. Happens 99.8% of the time. Arbitrators are ex-union people.

Unless there are other issues with this particular individual, and a VERY GOOD paper trail has been documented, the end result will be, she wins.
