On the eve of U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.s appearance before Congress, a senior Justice Department official said the agency cannot meet the deadline Republican lawmakers have set to turn over more documents on the Fast and Furious gun operation or be held in contempt of Congress. Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole said that the Feb. 9 deadline to submit all documents on the botched gun operation set this week by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, was impossible to meet.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
This crowd is really stupid! Actually and crooked!
I’m sure that it must take a month or so to find and turn over all the required documents - please... Can we get a computer fellow in there?
This bunch of crooks really should go down quickly. I have not seen this kind of lawlessness since the Nixon administration (and it was mild compared to this).
DOJ shredders are working as fast as we can make them go, give us a break Issa!!!
Wow, there’s so much documentation that they can’t possibly get it all together in the allotted time-frame?
But... but... I thought they didn’t know anything about this operation. They weren’t supposed to have any records on it...
Can’t didn’t try and impossible doesn’t exist, but hey, one lying excuse is as good as any other lying excuse because when you make the rules, you can change them anytime you like.
What they really saying is that they can't filter and redact the documents fast enough. An honest collection of the documents would take less than a day. There will come a day when these criminals do time.
Tick-tock DOJ and ATF goons! Your prison wallet will finally get used
Oh, now I get it... since they didn’t know about it, they have to look for the information because it wasn’t neatly cataloged for them.
Yeah, that’s the ticket!
Looks like “James Cole won’t be an merry old soul” and will be spending some time in the “hole” trying to shield “Holder”.
Or, as Robin said to Batman, “Holy Bat Crap, Batman, something stinks in Gotham.”
NSA is reported to use its computing capability to analyze "transactional" data that it regularly acquires from other government agencies, which gather it under their own jurisdictional authorities. As part of this effort, NSA now monitors huge volumes of records of domestic emails and Internet searches as well as bank transfers, credit-card transactions and travel and telephone records, according to current and former intelligence officials interviewed by the Wall Street Journal.
The only question: Is someone feeding Issa and the committee with documents?
Just another slice of the sh!* pie omuzzie has served since his coronation.
This really is just a blatant, in your face attempt at tyranny. For a very long time, I always thought Obama’s main goal was to test the lengths that he could go before conservatives revolt. And then when the revolt began, he would play the martial law card. Lose-lose for us. He is probably bewildered that a revolt has not happened yet.
Wow, well said, and you’re right... If this kind of thing continues, I thing that a lawless revolt might result (at least it should). How can we exist under a lawful society when the Chief Prosecutor ignores the law? Not really sure what should happen but I for one am furious!
I just can’t understand how Congress continues to let this happen. That also makes me furious! What a bunch of pussies we not have for Congressmen - who once were 1/3 of the power and enforcement group...geez.
Has anyone told them that they have just as much power as the President? Can someone tell them how to use it?
I think that this nation has little time with the continuation of Presidential orders and the non-response of our elected Representatives. We seem to be just fodder to the elected class it seems...
Well, I can say this...if this continues and they let the executive continue to override them, the people will have to take things into their own hands...and it will not be pretty. Our wonderful Congress seems content to be led and controlled by unconstitutional means...well, that does not include us. If they do not act, the by god we will!
ANOTHER DOJ SCANDAL? A U.S. Justice Department source has told The Daily Caller that at least two DOJ prosecutors accepted cash bribes from allegedly corrupt finance executives who were indicted under court seal within the past 13 months, but never arrested or prosecuted. Stay tuned.
It takes too long to manufacture good fake docs to replace the real
ones they’ve already shredded.
My money says they get away with it.
And unless this can lead to immediately stopping DOJ funding it will be a big yawn.
Just think how that great American John Glenn stood on principal for Clinton, I am sure there was not kick back to go back to space.
I could be wrong, but unless Dems actually start upholding the law, this will be a long fight all about GOP Racism.
