It's only hopeless if we surrender.

Agreed. Santorum can and will win with support. If no one voted for Gingrich in South Carolina, would there be calls for him to drop out. I hope not.

His thinking is fanciful.

The more I see of the campaign the more I believe Newt to be the most if not the only electable candidate we have, he has the most experience combined with uncommon intelligence and communicative skills. He has the abilities and capabillities we need at this time and he is a fighter with a proven record of being able to advance the conservstive agenda and to stand for right even against the leadership of his party and the sitting President of the United States George Bush. We need an extrodinary man for these extrodinary times and that is Newt Gingrich. I will vote for and support Rick Santorum if he gets the nomination, but that is highly unlikely, it is more likely that his staying in will give us Romney.

Rick Santorum ... let's see ...

First, I genuinely admire his Iowa Caucus Victory ... whose credit he was ROBBED-OF by ... "Mitt Romney's E-RINO Country Club" ...

/Sarcasm-off ... What a "terrible" thing to have happen to such a "nice man from Pennslyvannia" ...

Of course, Rick Santorum's been a "really nice man" for sometime ... CLEARLY with LITTLE ELSE TO DO but literally "camp-out" in Iowa for an entire year ...

"Hell, Mildred" ... (even) Bob Dole could win Iowa if he camped-out for an entire year !!!!

Even Dr. Winkie (Ron Paul) has more "Presidential Campaign" horse-sense than Rick Santorum, on that point ...

Albeit, Rick Santorum genuinely deserves credit for his (Romney-Stolen) victory ...

As a former Capaign Manager, I imagine that Rick Santorum "gambled" that his (hopeful) Iowa victory would translate in DEPERATELY NEEDED MONEY for New Hamsphire and South Carolina and Florida ...

Alas (no sarcasm here) ... Rick's "sincere" gamble failed ... just like Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg ... genuinely sincere, genuinely a political failure ...

Real Men have the courage to admit when they've been defeated, whether in romantic love or politics (what's the difference, by the way) ...

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is a "real man" in this regard ...

Clearly, Rick Santorum ... IS NOT ...

Worse yet, Rick santorum is a "perfect" candidate for a narcissistic attitude ... viewing himself as the "GOP Savior" ...

Again ... the word "even" again ...

Even Mitt Romney doesn't see himself that way, right ?

Finally, Rick Santorum is (really) kinda STUPID ... kinda like a lovestruck church guy who courts (for marriage) a church girl for FOUR Years ... with mulitple proposals ...

always getting a "maybe someday" answer (LOL) ...

Rick Santorum has clearly PISSED-OFF both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich ... and he'll be forced to get a "real job" in 2013 ... his (selfish, pathetic, "Scottish Law") political career .... DEAD FOREVER ...

"Thanks for the Great Memories", Ricky Boy ... and (maybe) giving a Florida Win to Willard Mitt Romney ...

Interesting isn’t it?

Santorum is considered by some as a steadfast conservative but I remember him endorsing Snarlin Arlin over Pat Toomey.

This is a reasoned logical explanation of why Rick Santorm should represent the conservatives choice.

Oh absolutely Mr. Fresno! Positively Mr. Bob!

Ask former President Chuck Baldwin how that's workin' out for him.

Any Floridian crazy enough to vote for either Rick Santorum or the loony tune Ron Paul tomorrow is throwing their vote away and helping Romney.

There is but one choice to stop Romney, and that is to vote for NEWT.

Sorry to burst your bubble there pal.

>> Agreed, but the comments to follow will not be reasoned or logical. :-)

Give it a rest. Santorum is a humorless, big government statist as far as POTUS is concerned.

These memes on Santorum are old and tired. He will have nothing to do with getting Mittens elected. Mittens massive money and support from the Elitists/MSM is why he is ahead in the polls (if the polls are to be believed). Simple as that.

What are the chances a losing senator from PA is the best candidate to go against obama? I mean, RLY?

When did senators of all elected offices, suddenly become vogue? In ‘08?

That’s no way to compensate for Rick’s inadequacies, but funny nonetheless.

I see math, statistics, and social demographics must not have been your strong point in school.

So, if the primary results end up as the polls have been indicating for the last few days where Romney is in the mid-40’s and the sum of Newt and Santorum’s numbers don’t exceed Mitt’s, what will your excuse be next? Will it be to go back and hammer Bachmann and Cain like you were doing 24/7? Perhaps you’ll blame Perry for not coming back with a second endorsement in FL. It’s always someone else’s fault with you, isn’t it?

So let me get this straight:
Last month, it was Romney 40%, Newt: 27%, Santorum: 12%

Then after the Newt surge:
Newt: 42%, Romney: 30%, Santorum 12%

Then after the Romney surge:
Romney: 44% Newt: 31%, Santorum: 12%

Santorum has basically been at the same 12% for the last 3 weeks regardless of who has surged. His 12% obviously had no direct impact on Newt’s ability to win FL when Newt had 40%+ by virtue of leading Seniors and Hispanics in the state, which make up a much larger base than Santorum’s Evangelical support. Yet, when Newt started to lose his lead to Romney among Seniors and Hispanics, you want to go put the blame on Santorum even though Santorum’s support remains virtually unchanged? Where I’m from, we call that a cop out.

I know things like facts and numbers are hard things to comprehend for people like yourself, but take a moment to figure it out and do the math. If Newt wins both Seniors and Hispanics, he’d be in the driver’s seat in FL, regardless of whether Santorum got 12% or even 20%. Newt did NOT lose his lead to Santorum voters, he lost his lead to Romney voters and vice-versa.

If Newt falls short tomorrow in FL it’s because of what I just listed above, not because of Santorum. To use Santorum as a scaptegoat is despicable and dishonest.

Great point, and being realistic? None.

We'd be assured of a repeat of '08 should he get the nomination but he doesn't have a chance. It's either Newt or the liberal mittens and when Newt gets the nomination we'll send Zer0 packing in the general.

In a letter to supporters, Gingrich called the Nov. 3 special election “an important test” for the party in advance of the 2010 mid-term election. Scozzafava is “Our best chance to put responsible and principled leaders in Washington,” he said.

Actually I am a fan of none. I voted for Perry here in NH (one of his 10 votes).

In the end, I will walk on glass to vote AGAINST Obama.

>>If we get stuck with Romney, it will be a gift from Santorum.<<

That’s a fact. Anyone voting for Santorum, especially in Florida, is voting for Romney and it will not be forgotten here.
