The chairman of a House committee investigating the failed Fast and Furious operation demanded on Thursday that the Justice Department make a key federal prosecutor in Arizona available for questioning about his role in and knowledge of the controversial gunrunning probe.
Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, made the demand in a letter to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., saying Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Morrissey played an integral part in Fast and Furious and has information not available from other sources.
Mr. Morrisseys supervisor, Patrick J. Cunningham, chief of the criminal division in the U.S. Attorneys Office in Arizona, refused last week to submit to a deposition by committee investigators, citing his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.

Shoot-Out at the Not-OK Corral
I hope this is all Kabuki, and Issa has the events planned out so as to blow up in Hussein’s face by this summer.
That’s what I’ve been suspecting.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Does anyone see anything problematic with the US attorney (Cunningham) leaving for a new job shortly after pleading the fifth amendment? It would appear to me, that there is some kind of cover-up going on here with Cunningham. Subpoena his new law firm and ask them about any communications they’ve had with the White House or the Department of Justice.
Has to be. This is the kind of political game where you MUST WIN or you’re dead (figurative or literal). No move is made without being absolutely certain all variables are accounted for and contained.
It is interesting to note that the All Obama All The Time DBM is not covering this story the way they would if it had been perpetrated by say, . . . . . . . . a conservative!??
Issa should force Patrick J. Cunningham to appear before his commission and publicly plead the 5th.
Doesn’t accomplish much but it is good theater,
If he refuses issa should get some federal marshalls or capitol police to get his sorry ass there.
Way past time the pubbies start using this as a prop.
I want this corrupt administration ended sa well, but think about the ramifications of an Obama/Holder impeachment.
Holder’s people might already be on the verge of rioting when their entitement checks stop coming due to global economic problems.
Imagine the rodney King LA riots magnified and nationwide.
sa = as
We are so far into Hussein’s term I doubt we’d see an impeachment. Between F&F and the ballot issue in GA, and the lousy economy and the erosion of our rights . . .
But yes, when the SHTF and the checks stop, it won’t be pretty. Makes me feel safer to be in second amendment land, the FL panhandle. My little neighborhood could could arm a company of Marines.
He plans to.
Issa on Cunningham: 'We are still going to bring him forward'(gunwalker)
I disagree that it won't accomplish much. It publically sets a tone that the administration is hiding something and Dem spin has to work from that ground instead of simply supporting Holder's claim that he can't reveal "sensitive" information.
In the overall picture it may be a small thing but it is a significant shift in the narrative, not in favor of 0bama/Holder, at a crucial time in the investigation. It colors all subsequent testimony with its stain.
Imagine battle-hardened National Guard troops called in to deal with it. Frankly I don't think today's blacks are that interested in getting bloody in the streets anyway nor is defending The Jug-Eared Won an issue they would put it all on the line for.
You are right about the rank and file minoriries, but I’m more concerned about the hardcore “kill-cracker” NBP types teaming up with an empowered Reconquista LaRaza.
I’ll shoot whatever flavor of two-legged varmint I have to to protect the innocent because I feel that is a righteous act.
Well, that would be interesting because those groups hate each other more than either one hates whitey. I would have to drive at least an hour and a half to even find a NBP type, where they would be outnumbered 5-1 by cops alone, so I'm not stuffing and magazines yet. Some other major metro areas other than Denver might have a few interesting weeks.
and magazines = any magazines
Ping.
