The 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins made their way to the White House today and their Vezina and MVP winning goalie (American) Tim Thomas declines the invite. The Liberals heads are exploding in Beantown because he is "disrespecting" the office. I, for one, applaud his exercising of his right to freedom of speech.

That’s going to leave a mark.

He’d have gone if the president were an American.

In unrelated news, John Kerry reports suffering a broken nose and two black eyes in a hockey game.

The same liberals who were so amused when a previous president had a shoe thrown at him?
Screw 'em.

Only two Americans on the Bruins team? The rest are Canadian?

It seems as if his crease is about to get a visit from an OSHA inspector who will undoubtedly find some workplace violations that will require him to do some safety training to reenter.

Mostly Canadian, bust also Fin, Slovak, Czek, German.. and.. I may have missed some. Heck, I don’t even think most American college teams are 100% American as many Canadian kids come down on scholarships.

It is no different than any other professional sport. They recruit from around the world. I have a friend who played 25 years ago for the Swedish National Junior team. He was not quite good enough to make the Olympic team. He still got a full scholrship to the University of Maine to play hockey. He was not good enough to go pro. He went to work for a lumber mill in Maine.
His son MAY be good enough to go pro.

Perhaps you ought to change your tagline to something from Daniel where that story is told...the Statler Brothers do a great song on that.
As to the goalie, I totally support his choice. I’d have found something else on my calendar rather than decline. Anything would do — teeth cleaning, dog grooming, oil change...you get the drift.

Perhaps you ought to change your tagline to something from Daniel where that story is told I like this but it just won't fit in a "tag line":
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
I believe the name of the song is, "Fourth Man In The Fire".
My current tag line may cause someone who, mistakenly believes that the Bible says that "money is the root of all evil", to do a little checking to find out that's not what it says at all.
Eccl 10 v. 19 tells us, that's not the case at all and that money serves a very useful purpose and having it is not inherently evil.
