Gingrich was so successful as Speaker of the House....

As a matter of FACT, 'Yes' he was thank you ......

Dick Cheney: When Newt showed up he said, we can become the majority, we can take back the House of Representatives. We hadn't had the House since the 1940s. And initially, none of us believed it. But he was persistent, he was tenacious. He kept it up, kept it up, and kept it up. Finally by '94 he's the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives with a Republican majority. So I wouldn't underestimate him.

That’s not the same. I give Gingrich a lot of credit for successfully wresting control of the House from that other party.

I think, though, that one should pause and consider why his former colleagues in the House are not exactly effusive in their support of his candidacy for president.

I am not arguing in favor of any candidate, but Gingrich is about as erratic was one person can be. His lack of focus would be absolutely disastrous in the White House.
