WINNERS AND LOSERS (Vanity- sort of)

I provided links in my first post from articles regarding the winners and losers of the debate that may be of interest to some.

Newt Gingrich

Simultaneously condescending and authoritative, Gingrich put in a command performance tonight. From his opening broadside on John King, to his schooling of Ron Paul on the GI Bill, Newt definitely brought his A-game tonight. Will it be enough for him to win South Carolina? Probably not, but he’ll have no regrets.

The Iowa republican

Winners: Gingrich, followed by Santorum. Newt started strong by dismantling the moderator and that set the tone for the debate. Santorum did well contrasting his record with the others, though it might not have been enough to change the race.

Loser: Mitt Romney. His lead over Gingrich in South Carolina is slipping away. This debate probably expedited the fall.

Wash Po

Gingrich’s condemnation of debate moderator John King — and the entire mainstream media — for leading off the debate by asking him about the allegations made against him by his second wife was powerful and effective. It took what was seen as a potential weak spot for Gingrich and turned it into a moment of considerable strength. He won the crowd over instantaneously. It will be, without question, the portion of the debate that leads most news stories and cable coverage of the event.

Given all of that, it’s hard not to call Gingrich a winner. But, the truth is that he faded as the debate went along and was one-upped several times by Santorum. But, again, that almost certainly doesn’t matter.

Anyone who puts Ron alterPaul in his place is a winner.

LOL! Standard fare for primaries. The thing we can celebrate is that they are both conseratives. Let's just beat romney...then the marxist ninny in the occupied office.
