Well said sir, and 100% correct.
FOX Faux "News"' most dependable Romney-Pimp:
"We at FOX have already decided the winner of tomorrow's
GOP debate. Yes, indeedy.
So don't forget to bet $10,000 that FOX's
chosen winner of tomorrow's debate will be: Mitt Romney.
even when you know it is obviously not true."
Rush is the TANK for Romney. Bought and paid.
Line and sinker.
Rush is a RINO for defending Romney. PERIOD.
Would not be surprised to find a FINANCIAL connection
between Rush and Romney, or Rush’s EIB or its carrier
and Romney.
Rush must like that Romney defends Obama and invented
RomneyCARE. Rush must like the BIG DIG and its coverup.
After all, Rush uses EIB to foist Romney on America.
SHAME on RUSH. SHAME on EIB.
If it continues, we will boycott Rush products.
“I just know whoever mounts an attack will be the winner”.
I hope you’re right, df. But don’t forget about one huge advantage/disadvantage: money!
What have been Rush’s three or four biggest/most telling critisms of Romney?
Mainly that he’s the establishment candidate for one.
His inability to articulate conservatism for another.
That he’s not reliably conservative for another.
Mostly those or related themes.
Well let me be blunt, then. If Rush thinks Mitt is the establishment candidate, why isn’t he doing everything in his power to defeat him? The establishment is corrupt and antithetical to conservatism. It is killing the country every day in starkly and inescapably demonstrable ways. For us to end up w yet another establishment candidate would be a disaster of titanic proportions—maybe even the last electoral mistake we ever make. What’s wrong w Rush, that he can’t see that???
I can only speculate, but I would say a couple of things:
A: Electing people or defeating them is not what Rush does. Especially through the primary process.
B: He might figure he will have to support Mitt at some point against Obama, like he had to support McCain - who he clearly did not like.
C: He probably thinks the only Titanic proportion mistake would be re electing Obama.
Who has Rush supported for President that was not the established Republican Candidate?
Debates have been the biggest factor this primary season by far. And it's not voting based on "debate results" per se. It's about who can articulate the vision for the country the best. A debate is a great place to find that out.
Newt has a huge surge in Rasmussen's national poll based on Monday's debate.
Plus, debates drive the rest of the discussion. It would be foolish to downplay the debates, especially this election cycle.
Anyone thinking this is Newt’s chance to pummel Mitt is totally missing the boat. Think back, who was Newt pummelling when he got those ovations Monday? LIBERALS and LIBERALISM and OBAMA. He took one jab at Ron Paul, but that was due to Pauls LIBERAL point on how to fight terrorists.
Think back to all of Newt’s big debate moments: every single one of them was based on Newt attacking the liberal questioner and liberalism in general.
Attacking Mitt is NOT, repeat NOT, the answer to beating Mitt.
Every candidate who has made attacking other Republicans the theme has dropped like a rock in the polls.
Close - I would say you show up, deflect any bait designed you to attack other Republicans and aim your fire squarely on Obama and the libs.
Well you neatly answered the question as to why I no longer listen to Rush and miss nothing in the process. He’s either insufficiently insightful to realize how devastating to conservatism and to the country the establishment is, or else he knows it but won’t publicly admit it. I have no use for either case.
I used to think Ruling Class GOPers were just scared of their shadows; now I know they are corrupt and in it up to their eyeballs. If we can’t get rid of some of the worst ones soon, there will be no hope.
Or perhaps he simply has goals for his show that do not fit your goals for your listening pleasure.
Free country.
Your statement doesn’t make sense. What’s my ‘listening pleasure’ got to do w it? The issue here is the threat to conservatism and to the country posed by the DC establishment. How and why did you morph that into my pleasure? It’s a weird route for you to take.
What have I said that makes you believe I put my personal pleasure above my concern for the preservation and well being of this Republic? For you to phrase it that way w’out facts or evidence comes across as petty and nasty. No need to get down in the gutter. I care about the USA, and the DC Ruling Class is a clear and present danger to it. Can I put any more simply than that?
I was trying not to be snotty. Let me try again:
Rush runs his show for his pleasure and his enrichment. That is the ultimate American dream, to do what you love and make a great living by doing it. His instincts on how to do his show have created an entirely new industry. I would say his instincts are right most of the time. He has over 25 million regular listeners, far more than anyone else. Far more.
If he is not running his show in a way that suits you - fine - just do not listen. He will not care. You have some notion of what he “should” be doing that he simply does not share. There are others who are more in line with your desires. Just listen to them.
What does it have to do w me? The fact is, I stopped listening before I heard Rush was defending Mitt. My point is that there comes a time when conservatives stand up for the Republic. The Republic right now is facing a double-barreled and very likely lethal threat. One, the Dems; two, the establishment GOP. Both are destroying the country, and they are doing it in concert. Conservatives get that, and respond accordingly.
