After a two day meeting at a ranch outside of Houston a group of 150 Christian leaders, business leaders and conservative activists have coalesced behind Rick Santorum.
Friday night surrogates from every GOP campaign (except that of Jon Huntsman) attended the meeting and made the case for their candidate. Saturday leaders took part in a "passionate time" of discussions about what they're looking for in a conservative leader. After three rounds of balloting Santorum emerged as the candidate leaders feel they can support.
(snip)
So what does this mean? Expect conservative groups to start individually motivating their constituents to work for Santorum. Also look for more money and resources to start pouring into Santorum's campaign.

They might as well have just pledged to help Romney with a decision like that.
WoooHooooo.
Yep, they just doomed us to obama for another 4 years.
Yes - Mitt would like their addresses so he can send a thank you card.
I wonder why it is that social conservatives do not care about the debt that is crushing this nation. Why do social conservatives always back big spending, big government candidates? Don’t they realize that making everyone dependent on government is a very very bad thing? Do social conservatives want us to become Greece? Why should a fiscal/constitutional conservative listen to these guys if they ALWAYS throw their support to BIG SPENDING SOCIALISTS.
As a non evangelical I am curious about who is in this group. Are they ministers, pastors? I get miffed when I see Black minsters politicking fom the pulpit, and I am certain there would be hell to pay on the left and right if the US Catholic bishops were to make such efforts to support a political candidate so openly. Issues and policies are areas where religious groups can and should have a say , but no elected official should be seeking the endorsement of a religious group. And such an endorsement should never be offered.

You need to get your circuits checked.
I am not looking for a president that I can go to church with or one that we can pretend is ‘oh so holy’.
I want a strong leader, with a proven record of accomplishments and a clear vision of the future. I am not looking for a Reverend, Priest or Rabi. I want a president that will turn this country around intelligently and quickly.
I will continue to support the one man that I believe in my heart and head can turn this country around and set the course for my children and grandchildren to have a better future........ that man is Newt Gingrich.
GO NEWT GO.........
If only we could coalesce, we could easily defeat the charlatan Romney. It’s sad. I would gladly support Santorum or Gingrice. They need to work this out immediately.
Most are laymen. Those that are ministers only speak for themselves.
Yes, those damn SoCons keep screwing up elections!! Remember the good 'ol days when we knew a candidate's stance on social issues DIDN'T MATTER and the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE was the fact the candidate ran as a FISCAL CONSERVATIVE and promised to TEAR UP THE CREDIT CARDS and SPEND WITHIN OUR MEANS... all that matters is the candidate who promises FISCAL CONSERVATIVISM... Yep... good thing we listened to the "FISCAL CONSERVATIVES" and elected guys like...
(And the kicker? Club for Growth gives Santorum a better rating than Newt Gingrich. But the Gingrich fans figure if they repeat "Santorum's a big government socialist" enough times, people will believe it. Nevermind the fact nobody made this claim until 2012 and his ratings on fiscal issues are better than their guy. Guess who opposed TARP? Oh yeah, the "big government" from Pennsyvania guy...NOT the "fiscal conservative" from Georgia)
Posted #9-11 from my mobile. Guess it kept sending post commands. Again, my apologies.
Nobody wants to listen. They’re too busy living in a fantasy world believing that a thrice-married, serial adulterer, one whom has been kissing up to the liberal establishment for 4 decades, one whom left office massively unpopular, can somehow be our nation’s savior against a Stalinistic Emperor. Sad.
