When you go through the LDS temple for the first time (usually right before your mission or getting married) you go through a ritual where you are given the “Holy Garments of the Priesthood” (mormon underwear) which are boxers and an undershirt type clothing with Masonic symbols on them (compass and square plus dots).
You are to wear them all the time afterwards only taking them off to shower or for sex (sports is iffy but sometimes allowed). Most LDS claim that these underwear protect them not only spiritually but from physical harm as well. There are many stories in LDS culture about how they protected people in car accidents from burns and even from gunshots. They become, in reality, magical talismans.

I’m just saying that I am far more exorcised about the ineligible Muslim in the White House who is set to deliver our nuclear secrets to the Russians. He has already kow towed to the Arabs, the Japanese, and who knows who else. He is spending us beyond bankruptcy. He is blocking logical business development, including practical energy sources. It’s pretty hard to get me upset about the Mormons and their history.

Actually the real discussion here is about the candidate Mitt Romney, the media, Mormonism, in other words politics and the 2012 election and whether we conservatives lose big by Romney taking over the party that he hates so much and that he left when Reagan got elected.

The LDS is quite different on paper than in reality. It is all about PR with them. However, even on paper things are changing - I read the other day that the new LDS ‘handbook of instructions’ takes a softer tone on Homosexuality and they have had a much softer stance on abortion than their PR lets out also according to this same official handbook.
Mushrooms propagate asexually. Are there mushrooms in a Mormon heaven?
