Oh matt saw that today and just so sad.

Our Westie, 12 yrs old, was diagnosed with Lymphoma last week. She is our best friend and loyal lover of all things, always.
We have selected chemotherapy to start next week, only because if don’t do something she is sure to die and we want to have tried to save her. It was and is a struggle on what to do and when and we have thought long, daily, and hard.
Just praying all the time that little dear one will be allowed to have a few more year’s.
Pray

Praying hard. And spare no expense. My sister's 13 year old Sheltie was diagnosed with cancer almost three years ago, and with a lot of effort, God's grace, and loving owners, she's holding up well, except for the arthritis in her left front paw. The cancer keeps trying to creep back, but it gets beaten back into remission every time.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

You have my prayers a year and ahalf ago we lost a mix breed we had for 16 years to cancer. The vet said very traumatic I should go in the waiting room. I left the room, turned around and went back in, I held her head in my hands looked in her face and talked to her until she passed. I did not want her to be alone. They are like our children because they give love and affection so unconditional. I pray yours is one of those wonderful success stories and your puppy is with you for many more yeas.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Westie's cancer. Our Golden/Brittany mix got that and we also opted for chemo. If I'd have known then what I know now...check to see if you have a holistic vet in the area. You might want to consider acupuncture, chiropractic and/or Chinese herbs to help with the nausea and not-wanting-to-eat issues that come with the chemotherapy treatments.

Our English Shepherd, Gypsy, developed liver disease, and with the acupuncture/chiropractic/Chinese herbs we were able to keep her 22 months longer than our traditional vets expected.

You might consider checking out Pet Wellbeing's cancer support therapies while your little Westie is undergoing chemotherapy. I give my cat the feline version of ES Clear and have extended his life by 7 months so far. I chose not to have the vet do chemotherapy and was told in early April that he had only weeks to live.
