I think that’s pretty much what I said.

He should bring up impeachment papers for this...

What is the constitutional basis for impeachment?

LOL! You got that right. Boehner is not going to do anything that might put a kink in his cushy life as Speaker of the House. He likes it just the way it is. Same goes for Mitchie the Kid McConnell.

He should bring up impeachment papers for this...

What is the constitutional basis for impeachment?

Has he acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States?

If the answer to that is 'yes', then articles of impeachment can and should be brought forth.

Worked for Richard Nixon. From the House order for impeachment, I quote: "In all of this, Richard M. Nixon has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore Richard M. Nixon, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office. "

We can’t shut down Dear Reader’s ‘free speech’. One sentence into His SOTU, Boner needs to yell out ‘Mic check’ and the rest of the pantywaists in Congress can then repeat everything Dear Reader reads. This is how Democracy works. /sarcasm off/

>> Maybe they should call for hearings on his ethics.

Like house hearings aren’t just another gimmick? With this spineless bunch, hearings are oversight theater, not true oversight.

If the answer to that is 'yes', then articles of impeachment can and should be brought forth.

With regard to the recess appointments, the answer is "no." The Constitution provides for impeachment for treason, bribery, high crimes, and misdemeanors. The Constitution permits recess appointments and nothing in the Constitution defines the word "recess." The fact that O'Dumbo has violated a Senate Rule or handshake understanding handed down from prior administrations, does not make the recess appointments an impeachable offense.

Ask yourself this: Focusing on this one issue, if a Republican president had done the same thing, would you be calling for impeachment? Of course not. We would be celebrating the fact that we have finally have a republican president with the balls to stand up to the obstructionist RATs in the Senate.

BTW -- I don't think any of the pundits have applied the "recess clause" in Art. II §2(3)of the Constitution correctly. That provision gives the POTUS the power to "fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate." THe language is straight and simple: The vacancy itself must occur when the Senate is in recess. If the Seante is in session when the vacancy occurs, then the POTUS has no right to a recess appointment.

This resident has been banging on the Constitution from day one. Granted, he sees the the Constitutional damage of the last 80 years and wants to pile on a bit himself. But the problem is he is going for the final nails right under our eyes. The House should have dozens of ongoing investigations beyond F&F at this point. And a new one should be drawing up articles of impeachment that do have muster - that’s not my job, that’s theirs. If they look back over 3 years and cannot find any, so be it. But, they are NOT even trying, all the while our republic is being sunk by nefarious skunks.

I agree with you, but on this particular issue concerning recess appointments, I don't see the impeachable offense.

Q: With regard to F & F, where are the drumbeats for the appointent of a special prosecutor? Have any of the GOP candidates called for a special prosecutor? Boehner? Cantor? Anyone in the Senate?

Does he care about the constitution? LOL

Did he turn over congressional budget power to a “super-secret committee”? Did he permit Dear Reader the power to arrest and detain “domestic terrorists” with no trial?

Has he done anything beyond lip flapping with the government employees who ran guns to Mexican cartels? How about the drug money launderers.

Did he care that Obama is not a natural born citizen?
