Why shouldn’t he stay in? Huntsman came in last with only 1 percent and he is staying in
BTTP
Methinks Newt needs to put facts behind his claim that the ads were false.
I don’t know what his specific complaints are but I do know that the ad I saw that reminded of his ethics fine of 300K and his making the commercial w/ Pelosi rang true.
There’s a real possibility that Newt destroyed his viability as a presidential candidate with his own actions and now wants to shoot the messenger.
Like Howard Dean, for instance!
I’m glad to see Romney getting some heat, but wonder how much Romney can be hurt. He is like Ron Paul with his usual support.
Rush also said that the primaries are a training ground for the election. I think he wants to see Romney get beat up and bloodied a bit so that, if he is the nominee, he will be ready to duke it out with Obama.
Have watched a lot of elections and this one is the the equivalent of being on a roller coaster ride from hell. Heck, I even wonder if Romney really won by 8 votes in Iowa...is that paranoia? lol....he really is the Prince Charming of the media elites
Now, he has to be his own Bad Cop. Pity...he could have used a friendly PAC to do the duty and personally stick with Reagan's 11th Commandment. Using an allied hatchet man might strike some as sneaky, but it's protocol. In extremis, if the hatchet-PAC went to far, Newt could have rebuked them.
>> Why shouldnt he stay in? <<
I’m not saying Perry shouldn’t stay in. I’m just wondering why Rush would tell us that Perry’s staying in would help Romney, then turn around and say he hopes Perry will stay in. Seeems contradictory to me.
>> Anybody who takes on the Clintons and goes toe-to-toe and survives <<
Yeah, but Newt didn’t exactly “survive.” He was given the boot in 1998 by his colleagues, not by the Clintons.
>> Newt, as Good Cop, stood alone; he had no Bad Cop to back him up <<
Probably because he didn’t have the money for a big negative advertising campaign.
Nobody in the MSM, that is. Seems like a lot of we FReepers have been attacking Romney for quite some time. :^)
Go Newt! If it leads to Santorum in the White House, I say PRAISE THE LORD!
Hey, if Newt does that, he'll once again be a hero in my estimation. Romney needs to lose.
3. Or is Rush being inscrutable?
Bingo.
I think you've got Romney pegged.
Duke out what? They basically agree on using government to micromanage each person's health care, using government to super-duper micromanage human behavior in order to "save the planet" from imaginary man-caused climate change, activist judges to advance liberal agendas and make them "legal," using government to "stimulate" the economy (like bailing water out of one end of the swimming pool and into the other end), using government to force ... er, socially engineer ... society to embrace open homosexuality ...
Duke what out, exactly?
*snort* {^)
Good call Rush! I'd forgotten about that gambit. He's right though. Romney has been the purveyor of poison apples ever since.
Let's face facts: up front, Gingrich is an unlikely figure to assume historic stature.
But then, they always are.
One thing we know: Four more years of bama is unthinkable. Then again, Romney will be little better because he has no vision whatsoever. Gingrich is right about Romney when he says he is well suited to fit in to the ongoing decay, but has no idea how to stop it, much less reverse it.
I have a persistent, seriously uneasy feeling that Santorum will reveal a glass jaw and be gone within a few weeks. Those who want to throw Gingrich and his "baggage" under the bus need to consider the alternative, without Perry or Santorum in the field.
