Voting multiple times is a civil right if you are one of Eric Holder’s people.

IIRC, thanks to Bush 43, the Voting Rights Act was extended another 20 years or so.

It is way past time to take the VRA, aka Reconstruction Part II to the Supremes. No d@amn Marxist Attorney General should have the power to ‘eff over the will of the people like this as expressed through their state legislatures.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense. Lots of other states now have voter ID laws in place. I guess this is just an attempt to stop the bleeding.

EBT Cards should have photos on them of the “bearer”.

This would also cut down of some of the corruption in use.

As taxpaying citizens who PAY for them, everyone should contact their congresscritters until someone introduces a law to institute this.

South Carolina must prove that any changes in voting law don't have the effect of discriminating against minorities.

This cannot go on. All it takes is for one "minority" to say "I don't like it!" Provided of course it's an approved minority.

But what the hell, I'm white. If I want something -- a Rolls, a private jet, a PhD, whatever I want like making professional sports white-only, whatever -- I just dial that secret 800 number that all us whites get at birth.

Sure, just go read either of these stories previously posted on FR on 12/23/11:

This administration has as its primary goal and objective the codification of a divided America based on “identity groups.” It seeks to legalize divisions, with those groups it favors (ethnic minorities, moslems, people dependent upon the government, illegals) having broader rights and freedoms than those groups it disfavors (white working class, especially males, conservatives, Christians).

My contempt for this administration has reached extreme depths.

Nikki needs to be the first non-black politician to stand up and say she won’t allow the Feds to interfere. She should say clearly that she expects black people to have the ability to follow the law like anybody else, she knows they can, and that this administration is playing a racist game, to cynically use black people as pawns in their power games.

South Carolina must now prove a negative? That it does not adversely affect minorities.

They’ll come after TN before it’s over with. Heck, our RINO Gov. has issued a couple of statements in the past week or so saying he has misgivings about our new law. What a JERK!!
They bent over backwards to make it easy - - and FREE for many - - to get a photo ID in plenty of time for the elections. Anyone who doesn’t have one in time can blame no one but themselves!

I hope Gov. Haley fights this crap with everything she’s got. The Obama Admin. has been over-stepping bounds and getting away with it for too long.

This is so ridiculous! When I lived in VA five years ago, in a county that usually voted more democrat than republican, we had to show photo ID to cast a vote. No big deal. Why this is not the law of the land across the country is just crazy.

You have to show photo ID for just about everything else in this country...even to use a credit card at the mall, so why not the same to cast a legal vote; to verify that you are who you state yourself to be. This should not even be an issue. You can be darn sure that if "minorites" or others subject to "disenfranchisement" needed to show a photo ID for "guvmint" hand outs, they'd sure as shootin' have one or walk over broken glass to get one!

Instead of attacking laws requiring everyone to show photo ID to vote, the administration should be looking into why there are laws preventing minorities from getting picture IDs. Clearly, that is the real problem here. Without ID, it is almost impossible to live and function in our society.

What? Minorities have a legal right to get picture ID?

Who knew?
