Ron Paul may be flying high in the Iowa polls, but his newsletters from the early 1990s continue to haunt him.
On Wednesday, the Republican presidential candidate stormed out of an interview with CNN when chief political analyst Gloria Borger pressed him on claims that he made disparaging comments about blacks and Jews, among other incendiary remarks found in the letters.
Though the newsletters were published under several names — including “Ron Paul’s Freedom Report,” “The Ron Paul Political Report,” “The Ron Paul Survival Report” and “The Ron Paul Investment Letter”— the Texas congressman has insisted that he knew nothing about the offensive remarks made in the newsletters.
“I didn’t write them, I didn’t read them at the time, and I disavow them,” he said before unclipping his microphone.
Paul did admit to making money from the newsletters that bore his name but he suggested that he didn’t pay any attention to what was written under his name on the newsletter masthead.
“I never read that stuff. I was probably aware of it 10 years after it was written, and it’s been going on 20 years that people have pestered me about this. CNN does it every single time. When are you going to wear yourself out?” he said.
And when Borger insisted, “These things are pretty incendiary,” Paul belittled their importance, saying: “Only because of people like you.”
The articles carried no bylines but often were written in the first person in newsletters using his name.

There is an old saying “make one mistake, pay for it the res of your life.”
The fact Mr. Paul printed borderline racist stuff a long time ago doesn’t eliminate the fact he printed borderline racist stuff.
He can’t wish it into the cornfield.

This guys loves to hear himself run his mouth too much for me to ever believe he had nothing to do with the content of those newsletters.

At any rate, they started with Herman Cain. The MSM (State Controlled Media) will need to take down every single GOP candidate, crazy or otherwise, on character assassination tactics that they would NEVER go into Obongo’s past and push on him, and whittle things down, until THEIR choice of ROMNEY as Our Nominee is made official. I saw this coming by the MSM when they went after Herman Cain mercilessly this way, and they saw their system worked. Some Cain opponents rejoiced, but we told them they would start to hang the others out to dry as well, one by one, ad hominem, guilt by association, innuendo without proof, you name it. Every single last one of them, until they got their McCain for 2012 for this phony Two Party November 2012 Race.
I wish he could have did a comeback like that.

Having Allen West as speaker, the GOP elite will never allow that to happen. Boner Boehner and his RINO buddy’s will retain control, as well as the direction (oxymoron) that the “party” will take.
There is a fine line between telling the truth about the “protected” classes (minority races, homosexuals, Islamics and women) and bigotry. The eye of the beholder is the key; when the position taken by the “offender” is contrary to their own they are more likely to dismiss it as racist/sexist/homophobic/bigoted.
I don’t pretend to know what is in Congressman Paul’s heart, but some of the writings in question do sound like the real deal of racism.
I was surprised that they pointed out that Newt and Perry both, gathered enough signatures, but they were thrown out by the primary election committee with very little information as to why.

Paul scares me every bit as much as does Obama. He has gone so radically far to the right, that he came back out on the Left.
If you fail to see that, then get ready for some serious scrutiny from this forum!
