Alleged Mastermind behind billion dollar ponzi scheme may have amnesia

MEXIA - A native of Mexia that allegedly swindled investors out of $7 billion dollars claims he can't remember any of the events that led to his arrest.
R. Allen Stanford was supposedly beaten by another inmate while being locked away in Conroe's Joe Corley Detention Center on September 24th 2009. His attorneys claim that since the event, he has been unable to answer even the most basic questions.

Put him in an isolation cell and let him recover. If it takes forever, so be it.
If you’re the defendant in a criminal trial, you don’t have to make any statements anyway. I really don’t see the point of this.
Simple — if he cannot remember then he cannot actively aid in his own defense. Therefore, he cannot get a fair trial due to incompetence.
The law is an ass.
Who hired Craig Livingstone?
Better yet, put him in the cell with the inmate that beat his ass...since he has amnesia, he won’t remember it anyway.
Why then, he’ll stay in jail until he gets his marbles back and becomes competent. Then he can go on trial, and be sent to jail for even more time.
