"I’m guessing that these aren’t original Tea Party type folks"

Sorry to disappoint you but I attended my first Tea Party in Fullerton,CA Feb.2009 and by April 2009 I was organizing and participating in my home county. I have stood solidly with Mitt Romney since the 2008 election. This is another example of how deluded folks here are about Mitt Romney. It reminds me of the Bush Derangement Syndrome. Whenever there is evidence that Mitt Romney is popular with conservatives you guys offer some silly conspiracy theory.

You have always been with backstabber Romney.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

There is a lot of things to dislike about Romney but on a ‘family values’ platform he is hard to beat - seems about as squeaky clean as they come in that department.

Personally I think Romney is the only one that can beat Obama (for precisely the reasons he is disliked around these parts, because he is not very conservative) - whether or not he can win the nomination is a whole other question....

Well, I've been to Tea Party events down here in San Diego for about the same length of time as you and most of those folks were palin fans or Ron Paul nut infiltrators. Just goes to show, you don't know everything!

Nobody that calls themself a consevative would ever support Mitt RomneyCare. You are the delusional one, my friend...

You can't be a tea party conservative and a Romney supporter. That would be a contradiction in terms. It's like saying you're a Christian who worships Allah. It doesn't make any sense.

Whenever there is evidence that Mitt Romney is popular with conservatives you guys offer some silly conspiracy theory.

Good point. I heard the most absurd theories about Romney: One said he supported or even pushed for passage of RomneyCare, another that he pushed for gay marriage in his state, and a third said that he was a big government liberal who strongly supports legislation underminging the Second Amendment, including the Brady Bill, mandatory firearms ID cards, waiting periods to purchase firearms, Feinstein's gun ban, and restrictions on semi-automatic firearms. Other than his entire political career, I haven't seen any evidence that would justify those silly accusations.

What evidence is there that Mitt Romney governs as a liberal?
