Moral equivalence between North and South Korea?

Now if they used electric consumption as a measure, the North would fall far short. But those who are still defending the “pure” Communism of North Korea, will not be swayed by such materialistic standards.

Well, without electricy in abundant quantities, industrial doesn’t go anywhere. Virtually all the industrial production of North Korea is entirely in support of its military complex. The agricultural production is given very short shrift, still working with the main source of power being either the personal effort of the peasants, or feeble attempts to utilize animals as beasts of burden.

Vast numbers of people have literally starved to death in North Korea since 1950. And the situation has never improved.

As for the nuclear weapons issue, we should also recall that the USA has been the only country to use nuclear weapons, and we used them on civilians

Yeah, 'cause, you know, we shouldn't have used them on civilians. After all, it is possible to do a precision nuclear strike on military targets with a weapon whose blast radius is measured in miles.

Anyway, I can't believe the left is still beating this dead horse of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, even after it is clear this saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Actually, yes I can.

They want the Middle Ages when it comes to technology.

They want to starve.

They want to be cold.

They want to die of diseases.

They want to eat at their neighbor’s trough.

There is no cure for Liberalism other than a noose.

Articles like this reinforce the notion that a eugenic solution to the Democrat/mentally retarded by choice Problem will be the only way for our country to recover.

I would want to make a further study of the political benefits of Uragan D2.

The Korean War took place before my time, and I've not spent much time reading about it, so I'm not one to talk about whether we achieved our goals or not.

One can't look at the above photo and claim that we lost. We may not have gained all we wanted to, but that's how it goes in life. You achieve what you can.

I'm with you on this one.

Yeah, you may be on to something there.

And perhaps that’s why these Lefties are so upset with mObama. He hasn’t introduced them here.

What a macaroon.

Here’s a little gedankenexperiment for adjunct Professor Caldararo: remove all the barriers, mines, fortifications and the like at the 38th parallel DMZ, and allow unimpeded migration across the border in either direction, and let me know which way the population would flow.

Here’s a couple of hints for Mr. Adjunct Prof - an early version of that experiment was carried out in Berlin a couple of decades ago; a crude form of it is occurring now at the border between Korea and China.

Leftist academicians (usually redundant) so believe in the dream of a socialist eden, many of them cannot bring themselves to recognize the obvious fact that all totally socialist states have been hells on earth. The record of N. Korea has been one of the most monstrous disasters in human history. But the professor refuses to admit the obvious.

Just the sort of unwaveringly addled thinking that has made San Francisco the lugubrious joke it is.

Heilige Scheiss. The guy makes Ward Churchill look reasoned and rational.

While we hear of starvation and torture in North Korea, these are far less well documented than the recent history of the South.

Um...maybe that's because the North is a totalitarian police state, which makes it difficult to "document" things.

I dearly wish this author could trade places with an average North Korean.

If the outline of NK hadn’t been added to that image, South Korea would look like an island.

Ah, but our intrepid Kossack has an explanation for that! You see, dark North Korea at night is just like Marin County next door to glowy San Francisco:

Marin is comparatively dark at night...because environmentalists fought to save its farmland and created vast parks.

And there you have it, comrades! North Korea is just a big pristine old-growth forest! Ecologically speaking they're far ahead of us! (Except that there are no forests at all in North Korea, the inhabitants having chopped them all down for firewood.)

Mendacity on a Walter Duranty scale.
