Schumer has already had his Weiner nailed to the wall. Now his concerned about nailing a flaccid Boehner there as well?

They want to keep this as an election issue. That is why the Senate Dems only want a 2 month extension.

Well they shouldn’t be any negitiations with Boenher. That’s for the conference committee to do.

Schumer and Reid don’t like conference committees, because that means that the senators would actually have to vote on something. They want to decide ahead of time what shall be law, ram it through both houses, have the president sign it and be done with it. This is not legislating, it’s rule by a few.

It says a lot about New yorkers that they keep re-electing a guy who thinks jell-o should be nailed to a wall?

Didn’t Boehner already use the “nailing jello to the wall” comparison when dealing with Obama

Yup, and Rush just talked about that on his show.

“uch colorful language! Such a clever turn of phrase! I’ll be repeating that all week, telling my friends over and over again! And then they’ll tell their friends: “Negotiating with Boehner is like nailing jello to a wall!” Ha ha ha ha1 Wow, how did the democrats ever come up with such a technique? Through Burson-Marsteller? Brilliant!!!”

Personally, I like the colorful language of our fellow Freeper better:

Well, Schumer is slicker than owl snot on wet oak plank.

Given the high rate of sexual perversions in Congresscritters, the phrase “nailing Jell-o” brings up images it really, really shouldn’t.

Schumer:"Speaker Boehner is a decent guy ... but he's got a caucus that's sort of out of control."

Brings to mind that old line about knowing someone by whom his friends and his enemies are.

Most folks here would not consider it praise to be called a "decent guy" by Chuckie Schumer. Conversely, we would consider the "Tea Party" members of the GOP caucus to be heroes for drawing barbs from him.

But . . . isn’t that what Boehner said about Obama? I’m sure someone else will say this. Now to read the thread.

Stop equating the two major parties. Whose side are you on anyway?

Stop equating the two major parties.

In this case, the equation works. Are you telling me that MOST of the GOP congressmen and senators aren't just in it to keep their jobs?

Whose side are you on anyway?

The conservative side. The side that the GOP Establishment would like to go away.

First thing I thought as well..

In a meeting with a small group of reporters in his Capitol Hill office this morning, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, criticized President Obama and White House officials for their lack of resolve in negotiations.

Dealing with them the last couple months has been like dealing with Jell-o,” Boehner said. “Some days it’s firmer than others. Sometimes it’s like they’ve left it out over night.” Boehner explained that talks broke down over the weekend because, he said, the president backed off entitlement reforms so much from Friday to Saturday, “It was Jell-o; it was (*)(*)(*)(*) near liquid.”

Perhaps The Speaker has learned, through hard experience, not to negotiate with evil, Chuck?

Well, beware of inadvertently mouthing Dim talking points. They LOVE to say both parties are the same because it takes away everything we have been working for. It took about five seconds after Bush left office for Republicans to start bashing him. Keep your heads on tight, everyone—this is war.
