Schumer compares negotiating with Boehner to nailing Jell-O to the wall
The Hill ^ | December 19th 2011 | Alicia M. Cohn

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Monday said Senate Democrats are done negotiating with House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

"Trying to negotiate with Speaker Boehner is like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall," Schumer said on MSNBC.

The Senate passed a two-month extension of the backed payroll tax cut legislation in a 89-10 vote on Saturday morning. The House was expected to pass the proposal until Boehner voiced the rejection by House Republicans on Sunday. Boehner said on CBS's "Face the Nation" that legislating tax policy two months at a time is "kicking the can down the road."

Schumer expressed his frustration with Boehner, who he said has "been tying himself in a pretzel" over negotiations.

"Speaker Boehner's a decent guy ... but he's got a caucus that is sort of out of control," Schumer said. "He's afraid of the 80 Tea Party, way-out-there people in his caucus. He's letting them run the caucus, run his House."

I’m sure Boehner had to burn his clothes after being in close proximity to Schumer.

I’m sure Schumer knows all about slime since the Democrat Party makes it a requirement to join.

Didn’t Boehner already use the “nailing jello to the wall” comparison when dealing with Obama during the debate to extend the debt limit ceiling? Gee, Schumer can’t you make up your own analogies or are you just going the Biden route?

“Schumer compares negotiating with Boehner to nailing Jell-O to the wall”

This is CLASSIC projection. Dems are ALWAYS guilty of what they accuse the republicans of.

Personally, I think this is a trait of all modern politicians. They never want what they have done to come back and affect them negatively, so they try to weasel their way through difficult issues while trying not to tick off 50+% of their voting electorate.

Fear is a good thing. It keeps you alive.

Chuckie Boy you think nailing jello is tough, try dealing with the idiot Pelosi. You know the “we’ll pass it so we can find out what’s in it” Witch that is best spelled with a “B” not a “W”. . . . . .

Such colorful language! Such a clever turn of phrase! I’ll be repeating that all week, telling my friends over and over again! And then they’ll tell their friends: “Negotiating with Boehner is like nailing jello to a wall!” Ha ha ha ha1 Wow, how did the democrats ever come up with such a technique? Through Burson-Marsteller? Brilliant!!!

I have to disagree with Shmuck U.

Boner can ALWAYS be counted on to buckle.

100% of the time.

That is not Jello.

He is a rock solid, PoS coward.

"Trying to negotiate with Speaker Boehner is like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall,"

.....He should know....that line isn't original either.

“Dealing with them the last couple months has been like dealing with Jell-o,” Boehner said. “Some days it’s firmer than others. Sometimes it’s like they’ve left it out over night.”

BTW, what negotiation is he talking about, I missed the part where some underling Senator negotiated directly with the House Speaker.

Schumer said Boehner has two choices: Pass the bill approved in the Senate, or let the payroll tax cut expire at the end of the year and be responsible for the lapse. Schumer said those are the only choices, rejecting the idea of renegotiating the legislation.

Chuck U. Schumer, is going to pee in his depends when he, and the rest of his pals in the senate, have to truck on back to DC because when the House passes the 12 month version, again, the demonRAT controlled senate won't be able to say, we are on recess, because they are not.

It's gonna be fun this week.
