A transgender student at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown could be banned from extracurricular activities for a year for using a men's locker room.
Seamus Johnston, 22, a junior computer science major from Johnstown, was born female. Two years ago he began identifying as a male. Johnston is undergoing hormone therapy, but has not undergone surgery for a sex change. University records reflect that he is a woman, but Johnston is trying to get those records changed.
On Dec. 2, Johnston said, the university found him guilty under its code of conduct of disorderly conduct, failure to obey a locker room ban and trespassing in the men's locker room. He said he expects to learn the university's sanctions today. They could include one year of probation, which would ban him from extracurricular activities and men's facilities and require him to undergo counseling. Johnston said he would appeal any sanction.
"I hope that I'll be allowed to go back to being treated like a normal student instead of a freak," Johnston said.

If I were a woman who “self-identified” as a man (assuming a REAL man), I would want to shower with women. ANY sane male, given the opportunity, would prefer to have free access to a woman’s locker room and showers. I am a man, and all through high school and college I would have given my (well never mind, as this person doesn’t have one of those to give) for the right to go into the women’s shower without any questions...
The only logical conclusion is that this woman wants to be gay, and the only way to do so is to become male. How perverse is THAT?
Sanity is dead at the company I work for. Our company is allowing a guy to bring his drag queen show to work with him, even allowing him to use the women’s restroom and shower facilities in the workout room. They have spent money on retrofiting the bathrooms and changing business cards, name tags, system names and IDs. Our HR department conducted a few company meetings specifically for this issue. Of course, I work for a California based company here in Austin Texas (the Berkely of Texas).

Everybody else took whatever menial job they had to, just to stay in Austin. Never understood it myself - lots of history, but waaaayyy too much lib.
