Huntsman, 'Americans Elect', and Soros

Posted on 12/08/2011 12:16:33 PM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

Just to be clear, this is less about following the money and more about following the ideology. As another freeper posted here, Americans Elect has seemingly been corrupted from within by big wigs and power brokers.

Enter John Huntsman, who is being courted by Christine Todd Whitman to run on an Americans Elect ticket.

I'm getting red flags about this. Below is some of what's in the original posting about the Soros - Americans Elect connection:

TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: americanselect; huntsman
What is curious about this group is the number of connections it has with another group. Just for the sake of curiosity, I compared the folks listed on the Who Are We page for Americans Elect to another group: The International Crisis Group. So who what do these two groups have in common? Well, Douglas Schoen and Carla Hills, but also an interesting tidbit: Joanne Leedom-Ackerman is part of this group. As we remember from above, that’s Elliot’s mother. This is a happy coincidence, with father and son working in one group with Doug Schoen and Carla Hills, along with many other elites, and wife and mother working in another group with Doug Schoen and Carla Hills, along with many other global elites.

Now while young Mr. Ackerman wouldn’t tell us who is contributing to the Americans Elect group operations, it could be interesting, for comparison only, of course, to take a look at who is funding ICG. According to Wikipedia:

Philanthropist George Soros who is chairman of the Open Society Institute is on the Board of Trustees.

Isn’t that just the most amazing thing? Just like clockwork, in walks the villain. Now of course, since the young Mr. Ackerman declined to tell us who is bankrolling Americans Elect, we’ll have to leave that to our imaginations for the moment. Ahem.

Now I don’t mean to tell you anything in particular about Americans Elect, but before a single person involves themselves with this organization, I would encourage them to ask the leadership to disclose who has funded their operations to date. In short, I believe in full disclosure, particularly if an organization’s stated intention is to elect the next President of the United States. In that spirit, here’s a little more about Pappy[Peter] Ackerman: Founder of Americans Elect Used Tax Shelter Scheme

Thanks for the info. I’ve been expecting the Dem operatives to run a third party candidate, to syphon off GOP votes. It worked great to get clinton into the White House.

Donald Trump is one possibility. Ron Paul is another. And now, you suggest, Jon Huntsman. Huntsman is a hippy child of privilege, somewhere to the left of Mitt Romney.

This might explain why he is in the Republican race, although he never stood a chance. It gives him an excuse to go third party when he is rejected, as he certainly will be.

And, once again, the only remaining GOP candidates are midgets and losers and corrupt RINOs more interested in their own power than the good of our country.

Every Sunday I pray to God to bring our country back to Him, which now seems about the only chance we have of saving this sorry situation.

Clinton won with less than half the vote, so it’s possible Obama can do it again despite his poor numbers—if we don’t somehow get our act together.

I saw Whitman on the news earlier today. As far as I can tell she was promoting the idea of running a separate primary to elect a vice president and seemed to be encouraging electing someone from the opposition to do it.

A quick look at history shows that a two party white house was a disaster.

This is about both ideology and money. Americans Elect was conceived by democrats to help Obama’s reelection. And disclosure of funding sources is in conflict with democrat core principles.

The worst kind of socialist is a progressive Republican like Huntsman. He would regulate us to death, worse than Nixon did, if that is possible. The thing about Huntsman going third party is that he might pull left leaning Independents and some Democrats who are looking for any excuse not to support obama. For certain he won’t be like Perot spoiling for Clinton. He might turn it the other way, but probably not enough to make a significant difference.

I don’t think you can call Huntsman to the left of Romney. He has been a solid conservative on most issues other than AGW. I don’t know exactly why he’s the darling of the liberals, because on issues like gun control and right to life, he’s been very consistent.

There are two things which Clinton and Woodrow Wilson had in common:

  1. Both won consecutive elections with less than 50% of the popular vote.
  2. Both had wandering willies in the white house.

Bit of a tenous link to Huntsman though, isn’t it? Christine Todd Whitman could have claimed that a zombie version of Teddy Roosevelt was her ideal candidate, doesn’t mean he’s going to oblige.

Huntsman has already said he isn’t going to run as an independent.
