I’d say he’s just following the new corporate norm: move on before your mistakes and past incompetency catch up with you

Mr. Frank’s departure in January 2013 will remove from the House one of its more offensive members. Until then, this petulant, abrasive and downright nasty Congressman will keep making his presence known.

I like Rep. Allen West's term: "vile," used to describe not Mr. Frank, but another congressperson. To my thinking, it's a good word to use any time Mr. Frank is the subject.

I sort of dislike to commend Mr. Rove on this. He’s right on the mark I believe, but SHEESH! ROVE is just about as nasty a little man as is Frank.

I always thought that AIDS would end his career, not political reality.

Barney is bailing ahead of the Democrat bloodletting set for 2012. He has taken a new position (almost certainly prone) as the night attendant of the octopus tank at the Boston Aquarium. He’d heard that octopi have 8 tentacles and each may have up to 50 SUCKERS, making a total of 400 suckers. We hear that he’s paying the aquarium 350 bucks a week to be alone with these creatures for 8 hours a night.

It was because he was going to retire anyway, lost a favorite port town in redistricting and had a tough race last time...no, it is because the chorus of people like Michelle Bachmann who say openly that Frank and his buddy Senator Dodd are largely responsible for the collapse of the economy in 2008 and should be in jail is growing, and is going to continue to grow - time to lie low, and maybe even retire to another country......

Maybe Barney Frank is dying from some HIV/AIDS related illness. HIV/AIDS because of its effects on the immune system to bring about opportunistic infections, which are uncommon in healthy immune systems. Such are the most common cause of death in people with HIV/AIDS.
Bacterial infections common in HIV/AIDS include tuberculosis, bacterial pneumonia, recurrent salmonella septicemia, bacterial diarrhea (shigellosis, salmonellosis and campylobacteriosis), bacillary angiomatosis and recurrent bacterial skin sepsis. Other bacterial infections more common in advanced stages of the disease are mycobacterium avium complex and mycobacterium kansasii.

Apart from bacterial infections, one with HIV/AIDS needs to be concerned about cancer. Cancers common to HIV/AIDS include Kaposi’s sarcoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, cervical and anal cancers. Any one of such cancers might even cause gay Congressman Barney Frank to cut short his term in office.

This is true. But the Massholes of MA-04 will still be Massholes, redistricted or not.

The net gain: Massachusetts loses a rep (not important who, but Barney Fagg is about the best we could expect!).

I don’t care why Franks is quitting, just that he’s quitting. Having Maxine Waters as the Democrat face on the Financial Affairs committee is icing on the cake.

Could it be Bawney see’s the handwriting on the wall? Even if Obama manages to squeak by and get reelected the Democrats will still have a blood bath. Obama is selling out everyone for four more years and the Democrats have nothing to run on but lies. I know that is all they ever run on but people are more informed now. If he retires before having to answer to a conservative house and senate he can get all his retirement money and laugh at the problems of the American people.

Frank through his relations with the GSEs managed to do more damage to this country than practically any congressman in my memory. He was a horrible example of a public servant and deserves to go down in history as a scoundrel.
